Had my final day at @airbnb last month 🥲 Before leaving, I made a lil' visual love letter to all the fantastically talented yet extremely kind people I got to work with. It's also a recap of some of the work I had the chance to contribute to. As always, the work here is only what has launched so far, with a veritable iceberg of R&D work beneath. Excited to hopefully see bits and pieces of that iceberg (especially the AI bits!) launch some time in the future! It was time for me to dive back into the startup life again. We've been busy building something new over the past months, and I can't wait to share it with y'all very soon!!

@CharlesPattson It’s going to be hard to bring people and companies back after years of figma becoming the standard. Figma has it drawbacks but all in all it’s the best tool for the job

Let’s retire “it must be nice.” Because here’s what it really says: “I’m uncomfortable with your success and it’s easier to believe you were lucky than to admit you worked harder than I did.” Oof. Truth hurts, huh? If you stop throwing shade and start doing the work. (And maybe ask them how they did it instead of writing it off.)

@andrewjclare @asherdipps I want to see apple go back to their days of favouring ux over shit ui and bandaid patterns. iOS as a whole from Home Screen to notifications completely needs to be revamped. It’s bloated, favours distraction over delight and has become a usability nightmare

“It must be nice.” You say it like it was handed to them. Like they didn’t sacrifice sleep, sanity, and weekends to get there. You didn’t see them working that 9-5 and the 6-2. Didn’t see the anxiety attacks, the self-doubt, the “should I even keep going?” moments. Didn’t see the years of invisible effort behind the one shiny moment. So no—it’s not “nice.” It’s earned. And the price? You probably wouldn’t have paid it.

@andrewjclare @techdroider All of the latest iPhones have bad physical design. The protruding camera that won’t allow a phone to sit upward facing without being stable is horrible. Make an always on display with a phone that wobbles when laid without a case it’s stupid.

As someone who has been an iPhone user for over 15 years I’ve never been more concerned with the state of the iPhone. Anyone else? iOS 19 is rumored to be a completely redesigned, that’s a bit alarming to me because so many “normal” people freaked out about small changes to the Photos app in iOS 18. A redesign fundamentally changes iOS forever. Apple has to stick the landing. The rumored Air and Pro concepts pictured below look horrendous. We all want a redesign but not this. Absolutely awful. It has to be the best looking phone. And it feels like Apple Intelligence could take years to regain the respect of the public. Although Siri at the point may just need to be rebranded. No one talks good about Siri. I love the iPhone but at this moment I’m not sure I like where it’s heading
