Great meeting with @RepRutherfordFL I thanked him for sponsoring the STOP School Violence Act — the single greatest source of federal school safety funding over the last 8 years. That funding has put more SROs in schools, hardened campuses, strengthened threat assessment programs, and helped schools prevent acts of violence. It also meant a great deal to me that he walked through the site of the Parkland school shooting before it was demolished. Schools are safer today because John and hundreds of leaders were willing to bear witness firsthand.
