The worst feeling isn’t failure. It’s knowing you could be doing something great, but every day you wake up and scroll instead

Today, I'm excited to launch my lifelong passion project, Grand Old Books!! 🚀 There are 1000s of beautiful novels of the past, not in English, locked up in old PDFs, with no physical copies left. We started with Indian texts and brought back 12 books in 6 languages with pictures and annotations. This is, and will always be, completely free. We can't let time wash away history. Please comment to let me know what book you'd like to see added.

If you're in college right now, this one is for you. Everyone knows coding is important — but what you code is becoming just as critical if you want to stay relevant in the tech industry. I'm not an astrologer and I can't predict the future, but I can share observations based on what's happening in companies and what I'm seeing around me. Let's take an example: Imagine you're a passionate developer in 2015 who becomes an expert in compiler development or OS kernel programming. Back then there was demand for such specialists, but the number of roles was very limited. Only a handful got those jobs. Most opportunities were in high-level programming — building websites, mobile apps, data pipelines, etc. Fast forward to 2026. You can still learn mobile app development, web development, etc. — and if you become really strong at it, you can work with senior engineers on code reviews, refactoring, debugging, and complex features. But again, these roles are already saturated with experienced full-stack engineers. Breaking into them straight out of college has become quite difficult. So here's what I believe students should focus on in 2026: Build AI agents that can eventually create websites, mobile apps, data pipelines, and more — from code, not from no-code/low-code platforms like "vibe coding". Also get really good at: - RAG pipelines - Multi-agent architectures - Agentic workflows Why do I think this will help you? - Demand in this space is growing rapidly - Most senior engineers working in traditional setups won't switch overnight - Fresh graduates therefore have a better shot at entering early - A lot of this work starts with POCs (proof-of-concepts) — which are perfect for junior engineers to own and learn from You might not get hired directly into big tech right away — they're still mostly recruiting for traditional roles with the same old interview patterns. But you will have a much easier time landing a role at a fast-moving startup. Later, when big tech finally look to the trend and starts aggressive external hiring for agent/AI-systems roles, you'll already have real experience — making it the perfect time to switch from startup → big tech. This is what I currently feel CS students should prioritize. As I said earlier — I can't predict the future 100%, so take this as friendly advice. Feel free to agree, disagree, or do your own thing. Totally fine.

The job security, fear among the IT employees is huge. People still have new born kids, house is yet to be purchased. Job tenure is becoming shorter. Govt is going to face huge resistance from the tax payers. If high rates are not normalised, keyboard aur mouse fenk ke marenge.
