Our #Eutypella paper is now out and freely available on March 8th 🥳 Let’s celebrate with two amazing female authors @aphrika_gregson & Anna Madden. We believe it occurred independently from a detection event in Qld, so worth checking. rdcu.be/c664T

For those who have never seen these growing wild, here is what a patch of Sturt desert peas looks like. I found several more patches today at Wirraminna.

Skies above the vineyard earlier this month. No edits, the pink tinge was also visible to naked eye @BOM_NSW Cirrocumulus?

Link to latest publication from @DuyLe15069637’s lab. First report of #Colletotrichum truncatum causing #cotton boll rot. We’re very proud of this work, thank-you to funding body @CottonResearch
Duy Le@DuyLe15069637

🔵Boll rot caused by aprox 170 bacteria & fungi, sporadic yet important. Favored by mild, wet year, potentially again, so high risk for rot again 🔵We @aphrika_gregson for 1st time fully ID Colletotrichum truncatum among many yet to be ID bsppjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/TVADZ9PK… 🙏@CottonResearch

How cool is this? My wife made a #soil coring tractor topper for our #wedding cake - including an oreo based #vertosol I'm not sure what this says about me, but whatever it is my passion for soil science and #agriculture is very clearly supported at home!

You never know what you might come across when looking for owls in a Brisbane park. I'm assuming from the length of the prey's tail that this Kookaburra has caught itself a non-native Ship Rat?

One of the more interesting looking fungi I’ve been able to culture from barley in WA. Suspected to be Pyrenophora semeniperda (a minor pathogen aka Black Fingers of Death ☠️)

We’ve done our survey, now off the road & back to lab with lots of samples to follow. We recovered lots of #Verticillium #Fuasarium #Sclerotinia #Alternaria. Priority is to PCR for confirmation of #FOV and Vert pathotypes to report back to participated growers. Thankss to all 🙏
