I’m rereading Gene Wolfe’s Fifth Head of Cerberus (fourth time?) and can confidently say this is my favorite work of science fiction in any form. What an achievement, both the titular novella and other two (that added even more dimension and richness to the overall novel without subtracting anything). He is an artist on the level of Johann Sebastian Bach.

@MScarince Nah. It's mostly a comedy. Read it for fun once, then read it again with a pencil. Percy's laying down an argument for how partisan politics have filled the void left by the failure of the church to work on its mission (broadly speaking). We muddle through.

@bebudda I feel as though I need an annotated edition to understand half of this.
