The Pittsburgh Pirates have officially signed Chinese 🇨🇳 right-hander pitcher Mingxuan Zhang. Zhang becomes the first China-born player to sign during an international signing period since LHP Zimo Qin in 2021–22. The 6,7” right-hander projects as a mid-90s fastball pitcher.

@NPB_Reddit When I was in Saitama two weeks ago, looks like they already wiped their hands clean of Yamakawa. Not a single advertisement or billboard with his name or picture acknowledging his 2022 Home Run Crown. He has been as good as gone for a while now.

I've read speculation that Yamakawa would be traded away, but this latest move would indicate that is not the case, and personally I think it's a (not so) subtle sign that Seibu would like to wipe their hands clean of him as quietly as possible. Now where he lands next year.....?

@ScoringChanges I disagree with the scoring decision. Would have been a routine play if he was in a normal position and not shifted so far off the foul line. Cave probably beats it out if he fielded it cleanly as the defender had to range so far to his right. I have @JakeCave8 ‘s back on this.

REASON: Fairly routine play. It's not hit hard and there isn't any weird hop associated with it. Eaton just has it doink off his glove, so the error was charged.
