@AskWithings my order has been sitting in the shipped state for over a week with a note from the 25th Feb saying that the shipping label has been created but the carrier has not collected the parcel. Can I get an update on this

@arekfurt It should be treated exactly the same way as PPE kit, whoever would have to provide the PPE has to provide a device for MFA

I think this is a really underappreciated problem in many cases where orgs can't use app-based MFA across the board. Not all people have smartphones, and not all people--understandably--are happy to allow their employer to force them to install apps on their personal devices.
Murray@MyNameIsMurray

@NathanMcNulty @MMelkersen @AdamGrossTX @OnPremCloudGuy @mmsmoa The second issue is staff. Again, not all staff have smartphones, and some of those that do object to having work apps on, or usage requirements of, their personal device: Yes, even objecting to Authenticator. And even if they DO agree, they may not have their phone on them...

@bert_hu_bert I want them to keep the automatic updates to stay as "where applicable" and not become mandatory..... an internet connected nuclear reactor control system is a horrifying idea

Someone at work accidentally started the teams meeting for someone's org-wide OOF calendar appointment, and now everyone's just hanging out in the chat 😂

@WaqqyChan I am just hoping that my clubs players don’t get injured so that they can play the rest of the season after the WC is done

@bionicman08 Genuinely not hyped for this WC - it’s just the inconvenience of it + the football culture just isn’t there in Qatar

@HollyGraceful @suqdiq For the varying milage, I suspect is it more than people with U2F keys although I would be interested to know how many U2F keys are in use & what the biggest barrier to their increased use is

RFT: Request for Takes I'm writing a piece about Multifactor Auth, do you have some hot takes about MFA? Think SMS should *never* be used? Think U2F keys should be issued at birth? I'd love to hear your opinions

@HollyGraceful It is far from perfect but it is 1 step up from being completely locked out of everything if your device is stolen

@bionicman08 In before I'm abroad and I have to get a family member to go to my house to listen to a secret code that only my landline can receive so they can text me it, so that I can log into things

@HollyGraceful It does have that limitation but if you have it as a backup option it is a lot easier than having no MFA when you really need it

@bionicman08 Yeah I get that; but massive accessibility impact if you have to be next to your landline to log into things no?

@HollyGraceful I would say having a 2nd device that never leaves home in case your mobile / key is stolen so you can get into your accounts to update the MFA / passwords is important and often ignored

@HollyGraceful 1 major advantage of SMS via landline as my brother found out is that if you get your mobile stolen it make it a lot easier to access your accounts to get passwords changed & remove MFA auth from the phone that was stolen

@bionicman08 But SMS is not E2E encrypted right? So whilst I get this point against things like sim swapping (anyone pulled off landline swapping?) there are still other concerns right? I'm not necessarily focusing on security concerns though - privacy and accessibility are valid concerns too

@comex It shows an ignorance of the Portal universe, the contrast between the bright sterile look of the 1st game and the dark damp & dated look of the "old" test chambers of the 2nd game is deliberate and striking

Can’t say I’m a fan of the aesthetics in Portal RTX, but maybe that’s just my nostalgia speaking.

RTX Remix seems like a pretty amazing hack. I wonder how it works with dynamic meshes / CPU skinning…
