Information about a new PhD Programme called 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 from BITS Pilani for 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀. 𝗣𝗵𝗗-𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 (I͟ndustry M͟entored P͟hD in A͟dvanced and C͟utting-edge T͟echnologies) At 𝗕𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶, we are 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲𝘀 in the country. BITS Pilani started a PhD programme last year called PhD-DRIVE (Deeptech Research, Innovation, Value generation & Entrepreneurship) that is aimed at producing deep-tech entrepreneurs out of PhDs. PhD DRIVE received over 1300 applications and we made offers to selected students after a thorough scrutiny. Please await the next call for PhD DRIVE if you have missed the opportunity to apply. Observing that the rate of entrepreneurship activity rose from 5.1% (2020) to 14.4% (2021), Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu said entrepreneurship holds immense potential to drive growth, create employment, foster innovation, promote inclusivity, and bring about positive change in India.
