@StephenPG3 @Espo That’s a crazy stat and just goes to show how little rim pressure we had last year and still managed to have a decent offense

@GeraldBourguet Watching Royce spring in transition always made me laugh but both guys were solid role players that were some of the best shooters and connective pieces we had. Here’s to hoping Miles can be worth all the baggage and at the cost he’s coming with

@ErikRuby Welp, you don’t trade a future unprotected for cap flexibility so…. Looks like we found our starting PF of the present and future….

I hear ya, they’d do it cause they want him at that PF position and think he could at least be a bench player if one of Fleming or Koa hit. I just can’t imagine they trade for him and then let him walk. Especially since Grayson would have to be in the deal most likely and he’s a legit valuable player.

This is an incredibly risky trade for the Suns in my opinion. - Can make an argument Grayson is better than Miles - Only own one 1st directly until 2034 (2032) - Bridges' is an expiring contract that's due an extension - Lose their best 3PT shooter for a guys that's a career 33% shooter. I questioned their moves last offseason and I was wrong so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here, but man idk if I see the vision with this one.

@ErikRuby Agreed. Trading Royce and Grayson, which is what I assumed the pieces would be, for a single player that plays less winning basketball doesn’t make sense to me as long term move.

@ErikRuby Well, if they’re finding it’s actually harder to move Royce and Grayson than they thought and they would like the cap space for next season for whatever reason… just trying to find the logic based on the idea of an expiring contract. Otherwise I have no idea why they’d do it

@bricklinsnow If they trade for him they’d lock him up. Considering they have to move assets for him.

This was easily my favorite moment of the @kpeat10 press conference. As he says less talented guys were taken before him Brian Gregory has to hold back a grin because he knows he got a steal.

@ErikRuby @BrendonKleen14 Another thing to consider is these guys OKC are trading are for lesser value because they specifically want a team that can absorb their contract. If they were trading them for pieces to another team they would likely go for a bit more

@BrendonKleen14 Agreed, Grayson is better imo but not that much better to justify the contract. Might be something that happens a little later in the summer when teams have a better idea what they still need.

@ErikRuby Yeah I don’t know why having guys we like on good, tradeable contracts is a bad thing. Run things back with a better sample size and then pivot at the deadline if necessary but smart to wait for the right disgruntled player rather than make a trade just to make a trade

Some of y’all want the Suns to pass up getting players at below market contracts because you’re afraid of running back what could be a great building block season. I want them to address their flaws too, but you don’t pass on any of contracts their FA’s have agreed to

That opens up a lot of opportunities for bigger lineups and defensively allows for Koa and Oso to switch outside while ManMan/Mark can protect the rim.

Now that we have Mark back, and we have Koa and Oso as good size, I’d love for Coach Ott to encourage both MW and ManMan to shoot. They both have good touch and project to be decent shooters with their free throw numbers. If either of them can become floor spacers…

@scooperhoops Do they? Those all sound like minimal moves just for the sake of making a move but doesn’t make them better this year. Not a terrible idea to gather more data and build value in guys in case someone becomes available at the deadline, which always seems to happen

Easiest ways to address a weird depth chart are now either: 1) Trade Royce for 2nds, sign a FA with that roster spot using TPMLE 2) Trade Grayson for a forward 3) Waive Bouyea, sign FA Feels like they absolutely have to do one.

@GeraldBourguet I’m honestly glad they didn’t risk losing him for nothing. He’s impactful when healthy and we now have several very tradable contracts in case they need to pivot at the deadline

@Gambo987 Very trade able contract but also not too much that you feel you have to start him over Maluach whenever ManMan is ready

Mark Williams - Check. Next order of business after signing Goodwin and Gillespie and drafting Koa Peat was to re-sign Williams. Suns wanted a two-year deal and Williams got three but mainly because the average annual vale was low enough to guarantee the third year. Average annual value is under $13 million.
John Gambadoro@Gambo987

As we said no second-round picks today - Suns got their guy in Koa Peat. Now focus will be on trying to get a deal done with Mark Williams. And that’s a wrap on the 2026 NBA draft. Thanks for following along.
