This is painful to watch. I always have an issue with anyone using veterans in their family as a shield for their own actions. That said, I don’t think this statement will unify the team, remove the distraction, or put it to bed. Dart (and now, the team, because of his selfish decision alone) will have to deal with this all season. And probably for his whole career—and any team he’s on. Forever. Unless he condemns Trump. Especially because you can be damn sure Trump will keep bringing it up. Trump will never let it go. Never. This is what happens when you stand with Trump. And when you put him ahead of your team. Any team. Trump contaminates and consumes anything he touches. And unfortunately for me and all Giants fans, that now includes our QB and entire franchise. And history will judge him and anyone who stood with Trump poorly. Teachable moment, kids.

@spauldingtbear @BrokeDad360 I pay fuel taxes and multiple “fees” with my vehicle registration that should go to roads. It doesn’t. I’m not your problem, the boomers aren’t your problem. The government is all of our problem. When you realize that,we can fix some things.

@bthober @BrokeDad360 Everyone should pay for the road that leads to the house, for the cops, firemen, paramedics, sewer system and water, as needed too. Simple enough. If you can't afford the taxes, (1% of house's worth), then don't buy the house.

Property taxes pay for the things people expect to work every day: schools, police, firefighters, roads, snow plows, parks, libraries, water systems, sewers, and emergency services. If you don’t want to pay property taxes, which of those are you willing to give up?

@MattMorseTV Nobody should have to pay property taxes. You want my money tax me on my consumption. If I own my primary home there should be no tax on it.

I'm getting feedback from some Seniors, saying that only young people should have to pay property taxes because it's the young people that have children in the public schools. That because Seniors don't make use of the public schools, they shouldn't have to help pay for them. Okay, sure -- I can appreciate this logic. So now, let's readjust everyon'e healthcare insurance costs. Younger people barely need medical assistance at all -- so we can go ahead and adjust their rates DOWN. Older people, however, quite often need medical assistance -- so we can do ahead and adjust their rates UP -- by right around 60%, according to the best estimates. Afterall, we wouldn't want younger people subsidizing something that they don't personally use, right?

I regularly have deer in my yard. Lately these turkeys have been hanging out here. Really unusual. Had them all the time at my house in Wray, but they are rare this far from the river. I hope they stay.

@Rossputin I agree with you about gerrymandering being a serious problem. I would also say I think the democrats were much more aggressive in doing so prior to the current situation. I don’t think Trump is all wrong in trying to reciprocate

One of the best things that could be done for our republic would be a federal law to ban partisan gerrymandering. We need FAR more competitive seats. The problem is that many of the people who would need to vote for it will lose their special congressional lapel pins (by losing their seats in Congress) if it passes, so they won't do it...the same way they won't vote for term limits (although it's not clear to me that term limits are constitutional without actually amending the Constitution.) The harm Trump created by starting this rush to redistrict to reduce the number of competitive seats is hard to overstate. A truly massive mistake, not so much on a partisan basis but for the nation (not that Trump or many other people running the two major parties actually give a damn about the nation.)

Yes, NIL is supposed to be something that most everyone would agree with: a student-athlete should not be prohibited from earning money based on his name, image or likeness. That has transmogrified into university collectives that simply pay the players, which (especially combined with the portal) is not sustainable.
Giancarlo@stuffsports1

Maybe we go back to giving athletes what they’re worth instead of whatever it takes to get them back. The spending is insane in FB and BB for guys that aren’t even starters. The point of NIL was to pay athletes what their worth and give opportunities to make money off themselves. Not every athlete deserves to start college with a 100k paycheck.

@Scaramucci How is it manufactured? Newsom has literally wasted billions of taxpayer dollars and achieved nothing on the about crime, homelessness and radical leftist BS.

Let me tell you exactly what Fox figured out in 1993. Roger Ailes looked around and asked — who’s the threat? Not Bill Clinton, the threat is Hillary Clinton. They spent billions of dollars over decades destroying her narrative. By the time she ran for president 51% of the country had a negative opinion of her before she said a word on the campaign trail. That’s the playbook. Now ask yourself — where’s the threat today? California. The fourth largest economy in the world. Agriculture, Defense, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, AI. — which is literally the exportation of American culture globally. A politician coming out of California from the left could beat the right decisively. So what do you do? Spend billions destroying the narrative around California. Make it synonymous with crime and homelessness and radical politics. Do it for two or three decades until the brand is toxic. Newsom has an image problem today the exact same way Hillary had an image problem. It was manufactured. Deliberately. Systematically.

Noncitizen voting is extraordinarily rare – in many audits, less than one hundreth of one percent of all votes cast. The SAVE Act is a total sham, cracking down on a problem that isn’t real.

@sunnyright Republicans MASSIVELY overestimate non-citizen voting and fraud in mail-in elections. It's their bogeyman and it's caused by Trump's various explanations for his ongoing lie about the 2020 election.

I'd love to see the SAVE Act passed, because even one illegal vote is too many. But I'm concerned that far too many Republicans are operating on the delusion that the reason they lose elections is because of illegal votes, and that they'll totally be fine in November if they just make sure only citizens vote. Which is nonsense.

Why won’t certain states allow an audit? Why do the democrats fight so hard if it’s so rare? My wife and I have our birth certificate and marriage license in our possession. It’s not an undue burden. It’s not a poll tax. I tend to think it’s more prevalent than you think. You have the motor voter thing in several states. I don’t know but I see no negative in requiring proof of citizenship. If you are incapable you probably shouldn’t be voting.

Mike, what's the evidence that this bill, which would have significant costs if passed, is addressing a problem that's worth the cost? I ask that as someone who cares deeply about fair elections and don't want non-citizens voting. I believe that non-citizen voting in federal elections is very rare. After all, almost all of them would have almost nothing to gain by being a single vote in an election and a hell of a lot to lose if they get caught and deported. Not saying it never happens, but why do you believe it happens enough to make everybody have to get a passport or birth certificate if they don't have one now and present it to the government every time they move (and need to register again)? What about rural folks who live far from the relevant government offices? What about married women with birth certificates in their maiden names having to then get two documents (unless they have a passport in their married names already)? I dunno...I think this is 10% trying to address an issue and 90% theater.
