Enzo knows he can earn £250–300k a week elsewhere and compete for the biggest honours. Chelsea have boxed themselves in with self imposed salary caps and a rigid model that simply doesn’t work at the elite level. Top players will always have options. They’ll look at the money, the ambition, the environment and then look at Chelsea. The shit show. Managed my LinkedIn Liam. And this won’t just be Enzo. It’ll be Palmer, Caicedo, Cucurella, Estaveo. Anyone with real quality will be constantly tempted away. The club won’t adapt. They’ll hide behind the model and brief that it’s on the player to try and control the narrative. That’s where we are.
