Ok, real talk: I am not a doctor so I cannot advise you about risky compounds that haven’t had many in-human trials like experimental peptides. I’m happy to experiment on myself and report outcomes of my particular n=1 situation so as to share ideas for people to explore for care

But the literature would disagree that I'm incorrect. When we say "hallmark," we mean "necessary." PEM is *necessary* for the diagnosis for ME/CFS. PEM is not a hallmark of any other disease process, meaning it is a neither necessary nor sufficient condition for the diagnosis.
L Ward@Lwardo4

This is incorrect While a hallmark of ME, PEM is not exclusive to ME In medical circles, the conversation around PEM has expanded significantly —especially as we’ve seen it crop up in other chronic conditions, e.g. Lyme disease, Fibromyalgia, Gulf war illness, EDS, POTS and LC

Might I suggest that abled leftists, instead of mocking disabled people for pointing out blind spots in their praxis instead reflect on WHY disabled ppl may not be able to do international aid work and what it would mean for global leftist movements if EVEN MORE become disabled?

The folks who would lose the most from a leftist revolution are gleeful that their vaxxed and relaxed propaganda campaign worked so well that even anarchists are sneering “CoViD iS oVeR, tHe GuBbErMiNt ToLd Me So” when disabled people suggest y’all stop willfully disabling others

Quick question: is it easier or harder to carry out a revolution when you can barely stand up and when your brain and immune system and the average 60k miles of blood vessels all over your body are dysfunctional as fuck?

I look forward to the leftist revolution, which will def happen despite a minimum of 5-10% of people currently talking about it developing long COVID, half of which will be an energy-limiting illness that in its lightest form makes anything other than work nearly impossible. 👌🏻

no millennial trope has broken more brains than "you don't owe anybody anything". an ignoble, selfish narcissism dressed up in therapy-speak about boundaries and self-care in order to give yourself a pass from treating other people with a basic level of care and respect

Been trying to replace mindless scrolling with something nicer, and Arts&Culture app is a really good alternative for when your hands still itch to grab the phone. What’s great is that it has quite a few collections of Ukrainian art. Highly recommend

It sucks that those of us with Long COVID and/or ME have been put in a situation where we have to be guinea pigs who experiment on ourselves for relief, but I am simply not equipped to do anything other than share what I’ve tried and what has worked in my particular case.

I’m a theater/finance person not a scientist and certainly not a doctor or someone familiar with your complex chronic illness presentation. Everything I have learned about science has been against my will. I do not want someone’s worsening on my conscience.

@FrisoneGreta @ValeBodi @Gmwetz I’m not a dr. You have to do your own research and do your own risk analysis because serotonin syndrome is a thing and can be dangerous. I have low serotonin despite being on a low-dose SSRI so I took a risk with no negative outcomes. But that may not be the case for you.

BPC-157 sounds like a valid candidate for #LongCovid and #MECFS. Who has tried it ?
Noah Ryan@NoahRyanCo

BPC-157 is my favorite peptide and its not even close. Can be taken orally (its derived from gastric juice), has incredible preliminary study results, and essentially makes you a better, more resilient human. 25 BPC-157 benefits (and mechanisms) you should know about: 1. Promotes hair growth (boosts blood flow to hair follicles) 2. Protects your liver (reduces inflammation and protects against fibrosis). 3. Heals your gut lining (restores gut barrier integrity and promotes epithelial repair). 4. Strengthens tendons and ligaments (upregulates fibroblast activity and collagen synthesis). 5. Relieves joint pain and stiffness (repairs cartilage and reduces inflammation). 6. Builds stronger bones (stimulates osteoblast function and bone remodeling). 7. Accelerates muscle recovery (enhances nitric oxide pathways and muscle regeneration). 8. Protects your brain and nerves (reduces oxidative damage and promotes axonal repair). 9. Heals wounds faster (increases growth factor production and supports epithelialization). 10. Speeds up recovery from injuries (via VEGF stimulation and growth factor activation). 11. Reduces chronic and acute inflammation (inhibits pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6). 12. Prevents stomach damage (protects gastric mucosa and prevents NSAID-induced lesions). 13. Balances your immune system (modulates cytokine response and supports anti-inflammatory pathways). 14. Restores energy levels (repairs mitochondrial function and enhances ATP production). 15. Protects your heart and blood vessels (maintains vascular integrity and reduces oxidative stress). 16. Supports nerve regeneration (axonal outgrowth). 17. Boosts blood flow to damaged areas (stimulates angiogenesis and nitric oxide pathways). 18. Improves skin health (enhances epithelialization and collagen production). 19. Repairs your teeth (supports periodontal repair and promotes bone regeneration). 20. Reduces post-injury swelling (decreases vascular permeability and inflammatory mediators). 21. Optimizes digestive health (reduces gut permeability and promotes tissue repair). 22. Speeds up soft tissue repair (stimulates chondrocyte activity and extracellular matrix synthesis). 23. Protects against oxidative stress (upregulates antioxidant enzymes like SOD). 24. Improves otherwise hard to heal wounds (stimulates cellular repair in ischemic or hypoxic environments). 25. Protects your organs (reduces ischemic damage and fibrosis).

@FrisoneGreta @ValeBodi @Gmwetz You have to do your own research on these compounds as only you know which of your systems are dysfunctional. I don’t pay attention to side effects that don’t impact systems that I haven’t found to be dysfunctional in myself personally.

@FrisoneGreta @ValeBodi @Gmwetz There’s only anecdotal evidence since there haven’t been any trials on long-term safety. Most often people report anhedonia, which isn’t surprising given it modulated dopaminergic and serotonin systems. I’ve been on it for three years and haven’t experienced any of that.

@waltz_tales @fillthewhole Especially since Nicky was exceptionally open about his many, many health struggles but never once publicly disclosed having had COVID-19. So this is pure conjecture and it’s uncouth.

@waltz_tales @fillthewhole Publicly speculating about people’s health history in the wake of their death for social media engagement and as a gotcha for your own personal cause is unseemly and gross. Chalking every public person’s death to COVID undermines credibility.
