i think the use of "Main character syndrome" is a bit much but what he expands upon it meaning makes sense (bloated tracklist and overly angsty kinda cringy seeming songwriting) and its a valid criticism

you're allowed to say the artist of an album sounds like "she has main character syndrome" as a criticism of the album. that's not an unreasonable thing for a critic to say. it's harsh but not unreasonable.

even if you think the album is a masterpiece fantano is just in the right here. just because someone makes a piece of art that comes from a vulnerable time or place doesn't mean they are absolved of critical statements made about their work, even if those statements are harsh!
