A love letter doesn’t always come with flowers. Sometimes it comes under a bridge, sunburnt, covered in paint This mural is a love letter to the @cryptopunks community, written in pixels, spray paint, bad posture and too much sun. Every character on this wall is here for a reason. A collector, a friendship, a moment, a myth, a little piece of our internet history dragged out of the screen and made to stand in public in streets of Barcelona. Punks were never just pixels. They’re proof that strange little digital images can carry incredible stories. Today we're launching nodefoundation.com/cryptopunks, a single page that brings the full story together. Whether you've held a Punk since 2017 or you're encountering the work for the first time, everything you need is in one place.

From Yuga to NODE to Larva Labs. Forever Punk #98. Eras aren't meant to be endless. They're meant to complete, including my era at the helm of @cryptopunks. Stewardship, by definition, is temporary. It's caretaking until something can stand on its own, or until you no longer need to mediate it. In my eyes, stewardship was never about control or ownership. It was about care and support. That's the role my stewardship played, to make room for something more permanent. A home. CryptoPunks have found homes before. On Ethereum. In a big pink book. MoMA. I found my home with my Punks, more than ever when I lost my physical home in the fires. Home is a place you can return to. Home carries memory. Home gives structure to something alive without fixing it in place. And that's the spirit I hope continues for this project and the community with @nodefnd as their home. Under my care, CryptoPunks moved from the artists who made them, through Yuga, and landing softly at NODE. Helping open the Foundation's doors with the first solo Punks exhibition, this was an incredible honor and a wonderful encore after I stepped down as GM last year. Thankful to Micky, Becky, and the entire NODE team for that opportunity. And now I'm going back to the beginning. To the source. To my new home. Matt & John. I'm officially joining @larvalabs. I spent my last chapter taking care of the collection. Now I'm working with the creators who made that collection. My focus will be on their legacy beyond CryptoPunks alone, the studio's day to day work, and supporting their incomparable vision wherever it leads. More on everything else I'm thinking about soon.

What does it mean to make art with a network? Not on it. Not about it. With it. An essay for @ethereum. I was invited to write a guest piece, this essay reflects on network as a medium, @CryptoPunks and the art practice of @larvalabs, and the future of institutions like @nodefnd stewarding art that will outlive museums. It's been an honor to shepherd CryptoPunks into their next chapter. Punks forever. 💅
