@NecktieSalvage @owroot Bingo, the staggered approach works best, I find. It helps you re-orient the self and adjust to the changes (for the better).

Another tip that helped me gradually ease into it was to slowly add pieces into the rotation improving & refining my style each time. From t-shirt, joggers & running shoes —> to polo, chinos & boots —> OCBD, cords & loafers —> start adding blazer, ties (season permitting) etc.

So I know a lot of guys here are old hat with dressing well but if you are new to things remember that every little bit helps. Moving from a t-shirt to a polo shirt makes a difference. And then from that polo shirt to a button up etc... Ironing takes 15 minutes but it makes a really big difference. You don't need to go all in and transform to a different person overnight (unless you want to!). Those little steps matter a lot, and they help a lot. So let yourself go slow if you need and reap the rewards as they come.

More bars should be like Sottovento in Pavia. A mixed crowd of students having a drink with friends – or actually studying – plus old folks playing board games, actually pleasant music, Italian craft on tap (the Mozkito session ale was excellent!), and super friendly barkeeps.
