Imo both Rin and Ego are wrong atm. Rin isn't playing for himself, he's playing because of Sae and Isagi. That's the opposite of what he should be doing. HOWEVER Ego is refusing to accept that his philosophy is flawed, and is preventing the boys from thinking for themselves

@EG0IST5_ Sadly not made it to Jagaaan yet, only ATGW and SBG. And yes I think where knsr excels is deep psychological exploration, esp in bllk where nuance is needed. Rip sports fans who just want their favs to succeed, this isn't that type of manga. Failure is inevitable

Nanahiorin brainworms, I love the idea of Nanase explaining to Hiori all the torturous training he underwent in PXG as Rin's 'property', but Hiori can only chuckle and say 'maybe Rin was onto something there?' and then Nanase remembers Hiori offering to eat his heart 😭

@AmirLoki118 Plus, he takes 0 accountability for this. Karasu brings it up and Ego laughs in his face, then blames the boys for not expecting this outcome. He refuses to let Isagi finish his train of thought, then refuses to let Isagi take some accountability too. He's too controlling

@AmirLoki118 I actually beg to differ. Atp I think what Ego needs to do is step back and let these boys, especially Isagi, think for themselves. His guidance *sounds* good but you can't ignore that they struggled more this match whenever they tried to conform to his ideology

@Pixxie_2909 I have my personal gripes with how he's been written almost as if he's regressing ever since the end of the U20 match, but at least we now seem to have hit the rock bottom of it (PLEASE). Now my worry is he'll see a new PoV next match just to regress AGAIN when Sae returns 💀

@egoistanu SAME. I can't bear the idea of him not getting development, but I live in hope. The fact that this is happening now, so early into the arc, surely must mean that there are big plans for Rin in the future

@egoistanu I REALLY hope some time on the bench lets Rin think and see a new perspective. I do hope that eventually the whole team can break away from JUST following Ego's philosophy, but in the right way. Rin NEEDS to grow up and stop focussing on Isagi and Sae (mainly Isagi atm)
