Pope Leo XIV was chosen to be the first American Pope because he hated President Trump. Now last week he meets with Obama's wing man and this week he's flying around the world bashing President Trump and anyone who doesn't support open borders! He's a Marxist in a white robe

@Rothmus It’s funny because the same people usually preaching equity over equality are typically the same people preaching the popular vote over the electoral college ……. The liberal mind is a crazy place

Can someone explain to me how it is that taxpayers are required to pay settlements for sexual abuse by members of Congress but we don't get to see who the members of Congress are that we are paying to sexually abuse citizens?

Last night, I gave a lecture via Zoom to University of Missouri students. The topic was my work to preserve cultural heritage in North Carolina and its inspiration: the loss of cultural memory. The professor asked me to discuss not only Where the Dogwood Blooms and my social media presence, but my perspective on what is fueling cultural memory loss in the South and my desire to protect ALL of our heritage, even Confederate history. So what is causing cultural memory loss in North Carolina? That’s simple: half of our population was born somewhere else. And we have no idea how many more were born here to parents from other states. These people, whether good people or not, are not tied to our culture. They’re not beholden to our collective memory, our ancestors, or our stories. And so with no connection - it’s easy for them to demand the removal of statues, to force changes to festivals (I’m looking at you, Wilmington), and to cause strife politically and socially in a place that they can’t understand how we forged peace among one another given our history. Even worse? They destroy without building up. Not so long ago, people demanded the Fayetteville Market House be torn down. A very rare example of an early 19th century open air market. A National Historic Landmark. Why? Slaves were once sold there. It wasn’t a common occurrence - but it did happen. Luckily, that wasn’t done. But what struck me as absolutely ignorant is that while people demanded the market house come down, they ignored the building represents shared history. Even worse, those same people never said a word about a disintegrating historic black cemetery less than a quarter mile away that desperately needs to be preserved before it disappears. My husband’s family sold and donated land for what would become Fort Bragg. The descendants of his family were rightfully angry when Biden changed the Fort’s name. Personally, I was happy when it changed back to Fort Bragg - but the truth is: today, it’s named for a Yankee. A hero, yes, but not a Southerner. And whether I view it as a small win or not, the truth is: it’s just another slap in the face to Southerners. Am I okay with any of this? Quite honestly, no. I’m not. I want ALL of North Carolina’s culture preserved. I want the full story told. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Without judgement. I want everyone to be able to honor their heritage as they see fit. I want to be able to tell the stories of not only my people - but of my neighbors: black and native. And I want to see us fight for our collective memory because we do have one. But erasing part of Southern culture? Doing it through force? It’s the same thing as erasing it all. It ignores how hard we worked to come together. And it’s ripping us apart. “Those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it.”

On Christmas Day 1868, President Johnson issued a sweeping, unconditional amnesty proclamation granting a full pardon for treason or aiding enemies, and restoring constitutional rights and immunities. This effectively ended most remaining criminal liabilities for the rebellion.
