As we speculated, #mnwild have signed Viking Gustafsson Nyberg to a two-year deal ($975K cap hit). He’ll burn the first year (RFA on July 1, 2027). He will join the team this morning in Dallas. He is not eligible for the playoffs but can play any of the final 4 games

That means players under contract and drafted prospects whose rights the team owns. Since Viking was not on the Wild's reserve list as of the deadline, he's not playoff eligible.

Since he’s on the ATO at the moment he’s not eligible, but as soon as he’s signed he will be eligible to play in the playoffs. Where is the article from? I would like to read it.

@Maxx_J7 @TheNotTurk Hyvee doesn't put them all on the reciept like that, but when you look at the monitor while checking out, they do have it broken down similarly with several types of taxes even if it's just 1 item (so not regular sales vs liquor tax).

@TheNotTurk Honestly this just baffles me because of how it’s written, I have like 3 receipts from different grocery stores (I live in Hennepin) and I’ve never seen 10 lines for tax. Even when I buy groceries + random shit. The most I’ve seen is 2 and that’s for liquor tax + sales tax

@CJHemmesch @SkolSwank @mnwprospects No. ELCs all have the same maximum regardless of round taken in the draft or if they were even drafted. Signing as a college FA vs as a team's drafted prospect makes do difference in how much he can/will be paid.

Just a point to make that some may not know, a drafted player who remains a "bona fide college student" through graduation becomes a UFA on August 15 following their senior year if not signed by the team that drafted them. Even with the broken ankle. #mnwild

@UtdExcellence @jalbanese27 @RussoHockey Likely 3rd with the ability to move up the lineup if needed. Stramel's projection has been him topping out as a 3C in the NHL, maybe up to 2C if absolutely everything goes well. Again, I see Yurov as having a higher ceiling than that.

While Stramel shows promise, there's no guarantee if or when he will be able to do it at the NHL level. In a win now window, do you keep the guy producing in the NHL or the guy who may produce in 3+ years?

@UtdExcellence @jalbanese27 @RussoHockey I see Yurov as having a higher ceiling than Stramel. Other than the L/R shot issue, I don't see any part of Stramel's game that makes him head and shoulders better than Yurov. Yurov is only a year older and put up bigger numbers in the KHL 2 years ago.
