Another day in business
Another email from a supplier of major price increases!!!
Delighted this government have decided to roll back on all their pre election promises of helping SME’s with VAT reductions, employers rsi decreases and grants within its first 100 days in office and declaring they will now be waiting until next budget before looking at anything
Cause you see, they have the votes now. They’re in power now.
So they don’t really give a fcuk now

Breaking- New - @FineGael would permanently reduce the VAT rate for the food-based hospitality, entertainment and hairdressing sectors to 11%, if returned to government. Party leader @SimonHarrisTD said this measure would happen within 100 days of taking office. @rtenews #GE2024

@McConalogue If you call that meeting a success, I wouldn't like to see any of your failures.... Oh wait🙄
English

@croitralee Sorry to hear this. Tough decision to make, but unfortunately, a decision most restaurants are gonna have to make very soon.
English

@YeatsCountyInn @EamonRyan @LeoVaradkar @MichealMartinTD It's pretty simple what they are doing; increase prices so much we have to go green and then just divert all existing streams of electricity for more data centres. Big data centres = Big €.
English

Got our Electricity bill today on our new ‘best in market contract’ rate … bill has gone from €4000 a month to €7215 … nice little rise. Carnage awaits the SME sector after the summer. @EamonRyan @LeoVaradkar @MichealMartinTD
English

@philipnolan1 @pwalshnow @peugeotireland 3008 PHEV does nowhere near 59km. At best during summer I get 42km and during colder months this can drop as low as 32km.
English

@pwalshnow @peugeotireland Not announced yet, but the 508 PHEV does 55km and the 3008 PHEV does 59km, and the 408's close relation, the Citroën C5X hybrid 54km, so I'd expect somewhere in that ballpark.
English

The new @peugeotireland #Peugeot408 is due here next year. Initially available in 130hp petrol, and 180hp and 225hp plug-in hybrid models. A full EV will follow later. What a beautiful car!

English

@AnthonyGaskin12 @stevohanley @gavreilly @ruairimcgowan This is where your new "smart metre" will come in. It will be able to differentiate on what you are consuming. Watch as we all switch to electric vehicles, there will be a surcharge for doing so.
English

@stevohanley @gavreilly @ruairimcgowan Agree. But it's not possible to differentiate between what electricity is essential (heat, light, fridge) and what is not essential (TV, dishwasher). I guess the same could said about food but they still charge no VAT on all food
English

@AngusGaeEire @adriancummins Going to destroy it?? Its already fucked IMHO.
English

@adriancummins They deny it? Is denial the solution? I deny being 54 years old. That's it, I'm younger now. Go rent a car. 500 euros for 1 day. Will you think that if you deny it the tourists will arrive anyway? We are going to destroy the tourism industry. Let's keep denying

@gazzachef Your lot let Pogba leave on a free, signed him for 90M, payed him 400k odd per week and let him leave on a free again!! Great bit of business that🤔
English

Liverpool paying €40M more for a one season wonder. 😂🙈🤫🤫

22 years ago today, Manchester City signed Alfie Haaland. 8035 days later, Manchester City officially announce the signing of Erling Haaland. €60m release clause triggered one month ago, contracts completed until June 2027. Manchester City have their new striker 🔵⭐️ #MCFC

I had my first #Feast in about 20 years yesterday. What happened the beautiful chocolate center? 🤷♂️ A victim of the #sugartax?? The ice-cream and coating as perfect as ever, inside chocolate almost nonexistent. I miss the 90s #supercansandbigbars
English

@AngusGaeEire @FusionKilcar @adriancummins No even in another league, they're playing a different sport!!
English

@FusionKilcar @adriancummins At last we are realizing that the RAI, is not on the same page as us, the restaurants that the owners work more than the employees, in the kitchen, in the floor, Where it is needed. 5 years paying the membership until we finally understood that these guys play in another league.
English

@MichaelsCoDub Such true statements. Just hope people can hang in there and ride it out. Gonna be a tough 6 months ahead I think.
English

@paulofdub I'm sorry, but he has achieved and done nothing. Fires up tweets saying we need more discussions and then does not allow anyone reply to his comments.
English

@Inchhouse We all have those moments from time to time. Just been a few more recently unfortunately.
English

@garydachef Tganks Gary, honedt and inspiring words there. We will fight the good fight for a while yet! 💪😉 was having a moment earlier though! 🤭
English

I always try remain positive in what I do. However with the cost of living & cost of production rising daily, I am really afraid for all our future. Being self employed has never been so stressful & I've traded through recession & covid.I hope I'm not alone in my thoughts 💣 😔
