If we get the right incentives in place, there will be a positive tipping point, where farmers show they are the “doers” and become the well-paid heroes of our climate transition irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

I was proud to facilitate some of the sessions at a G7 meeting in Paris yesterday on methane action. Barbados Prime Minister Mia Motley gave an inspiring speech making the point that farmers would be among the most impacted, if we do not tackle climate change. #ClimateCoalition

The tools exist. The science is clear. What's left? Scale. At @G7fr Labelled Multi-Stakeholder Event on Methane Action, leaders from energy, waste, and agriculture came together not to debate what to do but how to move faster. 🔹@IEA released Methane Tracker 2026: iea.org/news/tackling-… 🔹@MethaneData announced expanded satellite alerts to coal and waste sectors: unep.org/news-and-stori… 🔹 Countries, civil society, companies, and philanthropic donors showcased concrete actions already underway The @CCACoalition's newly launched Super Pollutants Country Action Accelerator is how we get to scale. ccacoalition.org/content/super-…

Not their first rodeo. The #AcceleratorEU plan has learnt lessons from our response to the last energy crisis. Reducing our dependency on fossil fuels by electrification, lowering power prices, more grid flexibility and promoting better clean technologies. linkedin.com/posts/eamon-ry…

Even of the war in Iran ends tomorrow, it should see us changing our energy system for good. The Irish Government should use our EU Presidency to pass new legislation, promoting more renewables, grid flexibility & lower prices, so we electrify everything. irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

Don’t believe the negativity – Ireland’s retrofitting scheme for homes is not failing, in fact we are rated the best country in Europe when it comes to improving domestic energy efficiency irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

Three things I hope will be in the maritime defence plan due this week. 1 Naval bases in Dun Laoghaire & Rossaveal. 2 Use our marine energy experience to deploy new protection platforms, which also defend nature. 3 A new cadre of ‘play station sailors’. irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

I am terrified by what is happening in the United States. A vote for Mercosur would be one good way of fighting back against their trade war tactics. irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/0…

Good to see the EU Commission has today published its Affordable Housing Plan, which was influenced by the work we have been doing on the Housing Advisory Board. We can start to build from here! housing.ec.europa.eu/european-affor…

If we are going to deliver better infrastructure, then the department responsible for public service reform, must first and foremost be willing to reform itself. irishtimes.com/opinion/2025/1…
