Yeah, it feels as if Simpson is trying to say anything but, "We got outclassed in every way and could never have beaten that team,"... which is how bad the matchup was on paper before the game kicked off. Alabama probably beats Indiana 1/100 times, not because Indiana is 100x better on paper, but because the matchup, on top of the ratings difference, favored IU so much. It's why I think the Peach Bowl was Indiana's most impressive win of the season. In no universe did the matchup say Indiana wins that game 99/100, but they did. They would have beaten any team in America by 10+ on that day in Atlanta.
