In Parliament this week, a dangerous signal was sent that intimidation works. It is toxic for our society and our politics. It is an affront to the liberties and values we hold dear in Britain. Our democracy cannot and must not bend to the threat of violence and intimidation.

Ballot Result: 9 in 10 of our members voted to strike for the pay they deserve. But despite this overwhelming result, the Government’s anti-trade union legislation has prevented members in state-funded schools and colleges from taking industrial action. Our statement:

@NASUWT One of the worst organised ballots I've ever been part of. Had three different ballots and was still being told I needed to return mine. Why haven't we been doing things during holiday and weekend to promote our cause. We seem a weak union.

@oafc_prozac Serious question. What message would it send to students if their teachers don't turn up to work just because they don't like what's going on with pay? If students didn't turn up cos they didn't like what was going on, their parents would be fined.
