@IEEESpectrum Portraying Sardinia like this is simply idiotic. the island was independent during the Bronze Age, for almost the entire Middle Ages, and an autonomous kingdom with its own parliament from the 14th century until 1800—it was actually the Kingdom of Sardinia that unified Italy too.
