JUST IN: The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has announced that Professor Frednard Gideon will serve as the university's vice-chancellor from 1 August. Gideon was one of two candidates considered for the position alongside the current chief executive of the Namibia Commission of Research, Science and Technology (NCRST), Professor Anicia Peters. The chairperson of NUST's council, Dr. Leake Hangala, announced the appointment in a press statement saying: “His leadership comes at a pivotal time for the university as we continue to expand our academic offerings, enhance research impact, and contribute meaningfully to national development.
