Thank you @osmu_global for the appreciation of my work and the generous donation! 🤗🥰 Perfectly timed for the (many 🥴) ASICs for the #0xAxe. Everything I learned from the #Flex4Axe, #QAxe, ... went into this. Let's hope it works 🤞Target is 7.2TH/s with 200W and TR4/SP3 cooler

Moar progress! Quirc was updatedw/explicit support for single-precision floats AND keeps the math operations in the single-precision domain (i.e. a BETTER mod than kehribar's). S2: 1873ms ➡️ 1086ms ➡️ 979ms (meh) S3: 1460ms ➡️ 444ms ➡️ 196ms 🔥🔥🔥 @SeedSigner @micropython

Update! Followed kehribar's lead & converted quirc's double-precision floating point math down to single-precision `float`. Significant speedups for @SeedSigner QR decoding R&D on @micropython! S2: 1873ms ➡️ 1086ms (1.7x) S3: 1460ms ➡️ 444ms (3.3x) github.com/kehribar/esp32…

Benchmarking progress for @SeedSigner on @micropython R&D. Head-to-head QR code decoding @ 120x120 pixels (JUST the raw decoding time; ignores any pre-processing work): * esp32-S2: 1873ms * esp32-S3: 1460ms This is both CRUCIAL progress and pretty BAD news.

Today I am beyond excited to announce that James Hilliard (@james_hilliard) has started work as Chief Technology Officer for Upstream Data (@upstreamdatainc)! James has been involved in the Bitcoin and embedded Linux industries for over 10 years. He is well known in the Bitcoin community for writing the BIP91 specification that activated SegWit (nathanieltnelson.medium.com/the-wildest-ye…), and he continues to contribute his free time to several open source initiatives today. James also has a very wide array of industry experience. He has managed large-scale mining farms, developed mining pool infrastructure, optimized miner production line QA automation, as well as designed various embedded Linux firmware projects such as Bitcoin miner firmware and cryptocurrency ATM firmware. Coinciding with Upstream's business expansion into the US, as CTO James will be responsible for leading our new software initiatives and our overall technology directive. With James' experience and passion on our team, I believe today is a significant milestone for Upstream Data and the bitcoin mining community as a whole. I am honored to have James join me in our mission to develop world leading bitcoin mining infrastructure. James, welcome to Upstream Data! upstreamdata.com/our-team/

OSMU member pmaxuw has been making incredible progress on a QUAD BM1366-based open source miner. This thing is seriously rad. If you're interested in more open source #Bitcoin mining radness, you should check out the OSMU Discord; invite link on bitaxe.org

@KeithMukai @skot9000 Oh and it only works with s19k boards at the moment. Probably try for s19j pro boards next as they seem popular.

@KeithMukai @skot9000 Theres a lot to be done. Dynamic frequency and fan adjustments, web server with rest api+web client (can use AxeOs), clean up/refactoring of the gpt converted C code for the BM1366 module. Those are the first things i can think of.

OCEAN
OCEAN@ocean_mining·
A decentralized #Bitcoin is a Bitcoin where miners decide what goes in blocks, not pools. OCEAN's ultimate goal is to make this a reality, and today we take one step closer to our vision of decentralized block template construction. Available immediately, OCEAN is offering 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀, giving miners control over what blocks they are mining. The three options are: 1) OCEAN Recommended (most real financial transactions and least spam) 2) Bitcoin Core with the “Ordisrespector” spam filter 3) Unmodified Bitcoin Core (same as other pools with fewest financial transactions and most spam) OCEAN will continue its 0% promotional pool fee for options 1 & 2 while there will be a competitive pool fee of 2% for option 3. Our fees are structured to incentivize miners to make choices that benefit the Bitcoin network in the long term. Suggestions for more templates? Let us know at mining@ocean.xyz.
