Although administrative #data does not completely capture the full prevalence of #ViolenceAgainstWomen, it is important for assessing public services responses to the needs of women and girls who have experienced violence, and to monitor trends over time.

gender-based threats and violence against women journalists also include cyber trolling and reputational slander. We call upon all actors to end the culture of impunity, bolster accountability and end practices that limit freedom of expression.

The @jpVAWdata seeks to contribute towards a statistical culture that institutionalizes the implementation of #VAW prevalence surveys in the national statistical systems, as well as a methodologically and ethically sound approach to the collection and use of #data on VAW.
