I'm sorry but again, this feels so irresponsible to me! And everyone is celebrating it! Listen, I have a tall beer at the park and I trust every adult can manage their own limits, I just think it's not a good look as a promotion from actual organizations

@KC_Sass @TUsreymusic @zachlanebryan A million bucks, I could not possibly care less - I’ll listen to anything for 48 hrs. 🙃

@Mr_Husky1 Absolutely the fuck not. MASSIVE red flag. Honestly, with a demand like that, I’d call it off. I don’t see a way that ends well.

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do?

@kcrehabguy Those numbers even look low to me. Youth sports is a disgusting machine.

Being in the thick of this, its out of control. We've resisted the pressure thus far. Kids are playing multiple sports. Refusing to buy 2 bats, sliding mitts, etc. Kids just want to be with their friends. Lots of this is just feeding parent egos.

If you’re a parent and you think — spending on kids sports is out of control — you’re not wrong. Look at spending on youth sports since 2019. Graphic via @wsj.

Nothing is close to 97 and 03 for me. The rest are just “you can’t win them all” loses compared to those two
Creighton Coover@kucr8ton
The most painful tourney losses I've watched as a #KUbball fan. #1) '97 Arizona #2) '05 Bucknell #3) '10 N. Iowa #4) '92 UTEP #5) '11 VCU #6) '03 Syracuse #7) '23 Arkansas #8) '26 St. John's What's your list look like #Jayhawks fans?

@cmclymer I’ll be honest, I don’t pay a ton of attention to her, but she seems like she would be absolutely insufferable to be around.

Chappell Roan seems to be making two different points, one of them right and one of them wrong, and conflating the two.
The first is that she shouldn't be harassed, stalked, have her privacy invaded, have the right to say "no" when asked for a selfie, etc., and she's correct on all of that.
But the second is that she's entitled to treat global fame as an on/off switch. She should be able to be globally famous when she wants but also anonymous when she wants.
She wants to be recognized as an artistic icon when she's walking down the street, and she also wants everyone else to pretend they don't recognize her when she's walking down the street.
She wants the notoriety and all the cool shit that comes with being globally admired, which is perfectly valid, but she also wants to walk into any public space and expect that fans won't come up and ask for a selfie.
There are countless artists who produce widely admired art and don't seek out global fame. They love creating art that other people enjoy and they want more people to enjoy it but they also don't leverage huge PR resources to push that art. They don't go out of their way to be recognized.
Chappell Roan does leverage PR. She wants screen time. She wants good publicity. She wants to be recognized as a celebrity on sight. That's all fine. Nothing wrong with that.
But she also wants her fans to adore her public presence while pretending she doesn't exist when she's right in front of them in a public space, which is very odd and unreasonable.
And it's silly as hell to conflate that very unreasonable demand--that fans should read her mind and shouldn't walk up in public and ask for a selfie--with her correct point that she shouldn't have her privacy violated or be harassed.
She should be able to turn down taking a selfie, no doubt, but wanting her fans to not ask for a selfie in the first place when her career hinges on public adoration?
C'mon, Chappell. You know that doesn't make any sense.

@Stokedfight And apparently it’s hard for you to understand what a street fight is. AD destroys him.

Fully aware this is an annoying vague post… but I’m not ready to share details yet and this mama brain can’t type out the possibilities because it makes them too real…
But any thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Taking youngest kid to the dr tomorrow. Looking for answers and not liking the possibilities. TIA.

@marclamonthill NGL, it’s got me fired up to play and I’m a 57 yo, 5’9” skinny white guy who never played organized ball in his life.

This only looks outrageous to people who haven’t played sports. Are there other approaches to coaching that also work? Yes. But I’m not upset by this approach, based on what she’s actually saying to her.

@Dad_2_The_Bone I honestly liked most of the meals in elementary school (born in ‘69). Probably my favorite was a tostada, corn and a cinnamon roll - the cinnamon rolls were DELICIOUS. Pizza was always good, liked the burgers, which I think were actually soy burgers.
