@deontologistics Im writing similar fiction, but with a horror twist as well. Would love to read yours.
English

Open call for anyone who wants to test read a 110K theoryfic sci-fi novel set in the aftermath of conflicts over ASI, riddled with philosophical reflection on aesthetics, autonomy, and selfhood.
pete wolfendale@deontologistics
@dioscuri P.S. I’ll be working on final revisions over the next few months, so if anyone wants to be a test reader, hit me up.

@boreddeleuzian Deleuze took a lot from plato as well, he's cool

@DamonPetty6 @Ghazzali_Mind @ArthurMacwaters Oh boy you better not google what the british empire did

English

@Ghazzali_Mind @ArthurMacwaters You are confusing western civilization with totalitarianism such as in the soviet union, cambodia or Nazi germany. They broke from the ideals of western civilization.
English

@Abrakhadabra93 He was an absolute beast (my favorite author actually) but I am curious why you would call him an adept
English

@localcaudillo A very long thread...Many books to look it up

@notboughtbot @Your_Wrongest @Philip_Goff For you to claim something is real, true, etc it has to be filtered, interpreted, asserted by a someone, therefore it is subjective
English

@Your_Wrongest @Philip_Goff By “not subjective” I mean: real, veridical, truthful.
You might say awareness and qualia are essentially illusions. But the notion of “objectivity” is far more tenuous, requiring many more leaps and assumptions.
If you disagree I can only conclude that you must be a zombie.
English

@Philip_Goff Qualia is a phenomena that exists in us. Therefore, it is subjective (not mind/stance independent).
English

@JMGreerWriter How is it even possible that You can't get past binary conceptual terms
English

I have yet to see any evidence that Philip K. Dick was an occultist. I do know that he was quite literally insane -- one of that select handful of madmen who turned mental illness into the raw material for brilliant literature. That puts him, in a certain sense, closer to occultism than most of us like to think. The difference between the lunatic and the mage is that the mage retains conscious control over the process of moving between the planes; the lunatic doesn't, and becomes the plaything of subtle realms in conflict.

Champions of the Ice@ChampionsOTIce
Still blows my mind that someone made a setting where Christianity is fighting the forces of Hell in brutal trench warfare, then threw a tantrum that it was attracting edgy Christians. That's like making a game about sexualized, anthropomorphic animals and then getting mad that Furries show up in droves. Who the fuck did you think the audience would be?
Español

@DerronStills @chernovlosya Well, Pope Francis (THE interpreter of christian faith here on earth) said otherwise, so no, I won't be scared with fairy tales. And if there is a hell, those condemming others to it will be the first to arrive, so I'll see you there!
English

@localcaudillo @chernovlosya All this is answered by the Catechism, you clearly are uneducated about the religion you are trying to slander. Those who are ignorant of Christ through no fault of their own may still be saved, God will judge the content of their heart. The willfully ignorant are damned
English

@DerronStills @chernovlosya Besides, original sin doctrine isn't even part of the original christianity predicated by jesus. It was a fiction created on the 2nd century onward and mostly championed by augustine for political reasons. You have been brainwashed.
English

@localcaudillo @chernovlosya Mankind as a whole suffers as a result of the original sin, but fortunately our God is merciful and forgiving. By the loving sacrifice of his only son, he has opened the gate to join him in his perfect world. Our Kingdom was never of this world
English

@OrthodoxAndrew @chernovlosya Either he can let both good and evil happen (so he is at the very least a bit sadistic) or he can't influence either so he is not much of a god to begin with
English

@chernovlosya If God not real why good thing happen?
English

@DerronStills @chernovlosya I did not choose anything, neither do babies, or animals or plants and yet they all suffer tremendously. And if god is making them all suffer endleslly for what Adam and Eve allegedly did (which is a fairy tale btw) then he is a petty, evil and unfair god to begin with
English

@chernovlosya God created a perfect world for man and gave us the gift of free will. Man chose to use that gift to betray God. As a result, we no longer live in that perfect world free of sin and evil. Not that hard to understand
English
