@StanCollymore If you play without tempo and give the opposition time on the ball you’ll always struggle. The lack of offensive intent and quality was alarming. The ease at which Iceland got around the back of our defence at times is a real concern.

FT 0-1 Poor, very poor. Pros. TAA/Saka looked like a partnership down right. Cons. No bigger fan of Foden than me as 10 but Bellingham won the contest without even being in London. Gordon had a low block to run against but didn't show anything that Foden down left couldn't. Walker and Trippier. Great servants but if we can't go through the middle then they've got to support wide men more often.

@AlasdairGold I think this is sound business, Werner did OK for us and offers pace down a flank. Also worth remembering that he was injured at the end of the season and therefore a loan with a commitment to buy is probably a better idea for the club.

Personally, I see it as an experienced squad replacement for Bryan Gil that doesn't affect the transfer budget so Spurs can then sign another winger to replace Ivan Perisic and also a striker for those attacking slots.

As per @FabrizioRomano, Spurs are in talks to extend Timo Werner's loan spell at the club by another season. Postecoglou likes the German attacker and as part of a bigger squad needed for next season with Europa League football, he's experienced and can cover a few positions.

@StanCollymore Always want my team to win Stan and tonight is no different. We beat City last season to help AFC go well clear (still didn’t stop them coming 2nd in a 1 horse race). However, a defeat tonight won’t be as much of a disappointment as it usually is. It feels strange!

So, Arsenal will hammer United tomorrow, and if Liverpool beat Villa on Monday, Spurs need to beat City at home on Tuesday to still have a chance of making Top4.. and I think they can at least nick a draw… then Arsenal batter Everton on May 19 and win the League. BOOM.
