Adding to the above post; I also try to directly tip the server and not add it to the bill from the establishment where they are employed. When you add it to the bill it is reported on their annual W2 that is reported to the IRS. By handing the server cash directly it is not added to the W2 unless the server reports it to the establishment. It becomes the responsibility of the server to do that reporting, not the place where they are employed. NOW - I’m not promoting misrepresentation here, however most all of these servers are making minimum wage, or just over that, and that does not cover anyone’s basic living expenses.

@Murk441 A tip is based on the service you receive, not a fixed amount. I’ve left a single 1 dollar only once as the service was almost nonexistent. The reason it was $1 was so they knew I didn’t forget.

@ronsterd89 You can try using a solution of liquid clothes washing soap and bleach. Unless the curtain is fabric, you’ll need to hand wash it. Otherwise you might want to replace it.
