@chyycarter My girl got a 9 in maths and A in Further Maths. They’re her results, not mine but I tell her everyday that she’s loved, I’m proud of her whatever, and I work fkn hard so she sees what’s possible. I also sometimes hide her phone.

I’m sorry those GCSE results are SHOCKING. What do you mean lowest math pass rate since 2004? Wtf are parents doing???

The eldest daughter got her GCSE results yesterday and in the interests of fairness (because her big bro got a mention on here), this is me telling you she absolutely SMASHED it and got an A in Further Maths. Given I still use my fingers to add, I am in awe ⭐️ #GCSEs

UPDATE he took that gap year. Did a ton of work experience, re-sat an A Level, reapplied, got offers + interviews. Just got that final resit result today. Moved the C to an A. Starts his physio course at Manchester Met next month. I am beyond proud 💛

@ForrisHilier @AliBi40 @Dorastar1 Mine was the same at first but they usually have UCAS experts and experience with dealing with the exam boards. It’s worth a shout to see if they can help. Good luck on working out the next steps 🤞🏼

Can't lie, this morning has been more than tricky but the boy is off to study in the same city on a slightly different path. Clearing folk, dealing sensitively with our only just adults, you have hearts of gold 💛

@mrsbaileywrites @_baklon @MarkMcLaughli13 Sadly. Many people still believe it’s about massage . I work as a physio in icu. I literally have to save lives.

@61harpy Definitely. He had two great placements that really confirmed physio was for him and he volunteered with the Frimley Park Trust.

@mrsbaileywrites Work experience can make a huge difference, particularly in high-demand vocational courses, and particularly if, for example, it is in a health setting somewhere.

Of the many #ALevelResultsDay2025 stories today, this is one of the most heartwarming. Many congratulations to your son who has shown grit, tenacity and determination to achieve his dream! He’ll go in even more well-rounded and ready to succeed with this experience behind him. There will be many students today feeling like their world has ended with grades that didn’t match their expectations. It’s just a bump in the road - Use it to your advantage; ‘failure’ is a great leveller and something we must experience every now and then. To paraphrase one of my favourite lines from cinema: “Carpe diem, make your lives extraordinary!”
