@xenol8lia @misanderist I especially remember a video of this girl saying that everyone's a hoe, but when the interviewer asked her "so your mom is too?" she said "no but yours is". I think that kind of reflects how contradictory and non-feminist the movement is and they subconsciously know it... so sad

But while maybe not the same, I’m pretty sure Millennials growing up on an unregulated internet, that was basically a new frontier, also endured their share of social trauma due to online interactions and influence.
Yet they don’t blame GenX or turn conservative.

i honestly think it's more than just this. the accessibility of unsafe sexual experience due to the internet has led to a generation of sexually traumatised young people who have found community and identified sexuality as the enemy.

@oldbcc Agreeing or disagreeing doesn’t automatically equate to applying it to your own life. Still, making generalizations about entire generations whose shoulders we stand on (especially ancestors who look like you) is dumb and certainly not ok behavior.

@oldbcc Because she said anybody can be a slut to remove the stigma attached to the word just to say that her mother isn’t a slut but everybody else is a couple secs later. That immediately killed her argument and I’m really annoyed bc JLP is an idiot too so he didn’t even catch it. 😭

All that being said, (neo)liberal feminism is the entryway bottom of the barrel shit read it absorb it, and then expand your palette globally. Do not just read western feminist scholars either read globally, and go from there. There’s so much to learn, see and eventually do.

I have yet to see any GenZ talk ab waves of feminism which lets me know they lack historical perspective for any of it.
