So China has just cut off Australia from jet fuel. Why was Australia getting jet fuel from China? Why did Australia and New Zealand both shut down oil refineries?

Of course Japan doesn’t want a 25% gas export tax. Japanese consumers benefit greatly from OUR gas, supplied to them by multinationals who get it for free. It’s time OUR Government thought about benefits to Aussies from the export of OUR valuable and finite gas resources. #auspol

As the price of fuel goes up, so does the fuel excise and the GST component. The government is profiting off our misery. Worse, they just take that money and waste it. What is the point of having a government, if it is not to benefit the citizens?

The coalition calling for a halving of the fuel excise is welcome news. We look forward to working with them to achieve One Nation's policy of a full removal of the excise with compensation for truckies and dealing with the GST on fuel. After 3 months, let's review how that's going but Australians need relief now. We also need to have an emergency declared under the Liquid Fuel Emergency Act 1984 so that we can force Big Oil to put supplies into the regions and stop the price gouging.
