@BBCSport A great outcome for women's sport. Just for clarification it won't necessarily prevent someone with a DSD taking part - just any man with a DSD that has the ability to produce testosterone. Those with androgen insensitivity syndrome may still be eligible for the women's category.

The women's category of Olympic sports will be limited to biological females from 2028, says the International Olympic Committee. Eligibility will be determined by a "once in a lifetime" sex test, which would prevent transgender women and those with differences in sexual development (DSD) from competing. It will take effect from the Los Angeles Olympics. IOC president Kirsty Coventry said the policy was "led by medical experts".

@_JamesGtfo @PopBase Please reread what I wrote... It's all men. Men with DSD's have won medals. Any TIMs taking part in the female category exclude women competing regardless of winning. It's happening anyway it will prevent cheating in the future - which is wonderful news for women's sport.

When you apply to the girl guides now the first question you will be asked is: do you comply with standard gender norms, expressions and expectations, and if you say no? Or even you’re not sure? It’s devastating that Girlguiding has announced plans to exclude existing trans girl guides from September. The Supreme Court ruling is being weaponised to bully previously inclusive organisations into abandoning members of their own community. The government must ensure that the statutory guidance enables organisations to be inclusive and protects them from expensive anti-trans lawfare.

Hi John! As a biomedical scientist, what is the biological mechanism through which male mammals become female? How do we reverse the Müllerian/Wolffian developmental pathways?
