Among many, many troubling stories, we reported that Newsom and his wife's gender-justice nonprofits had collected a combined total of $700,000 in donations and behested payments from PG&E, the utility responsible for starting the most devastating fires in California history that killed the most people --- more than 100.

One investigation, which began in 2025, is related to his wife and her taxes, a source familiar shared. A separate DOJ investigation, which began under the Biden DOJ, involved Newsom's chief of staff. That investigation, which is still open and evolving, involves multiple Newsom staff, I'm told.

There are multiple federal investigations into people around Gov. Newsom, including one related to his wife’s taxes. Probes started last year after whistleblower complaints in CA's government, not politicians in Washington, per AP Source.
