@darkestdollx @objktcom If you’re including your higher ups at tt in your “all of us” narrative then I don’t believe you one bit. If this is just about you, then I believe you because I was in your position. I worked within the shady nexus too and I’m not talking about you in the OP.

Every culling cycle @objktcom comes up with a sympathetic story about how they’re the overworked underdog that’s 5 minutes away from bankruptcy. The next thing you know they’re gallivanting across continents to art fairs that cost mad $ for participation.

@varundo_ @objktcom Either way, it's not now. Objkt will struggle to survive because it relies on centralised systems and discovery is built around X. There's no incentive for people outside the bubble to care, so if it goes down nobody can revive it. It's being kept alive for tezos optics.

All the complaining, defending and denial from both the pro and anti Objkt camp only strengthen my prediction. I'll say it again, decentralise/open source/fully on-chain - If you don't have at least 2 of these, ngmi Very sad but a likely outcome. Plan accordingly...

@varundo_ @UnknownCo123 @objktcom True. If that support was ever lost there would be no choice but to drastically increase fees for the platform to have any hope of surviving.

TY @UnknownCo123 for expressing this so eloquently. This needed to be said and I encourage everyone to read it who is frustrated by the failings of @objktcom to meet their expectations. As someone who has logged plenty of constructive criticism and complaints about the Objkt UI/UX, actions taken against TOS violations, and other issues, I understand being frustrated that the platform we have all come to depend upon is imperfect and does not meet our every expectation. However, expecting the small team at Objkt to do EVERYTHING we want on a shoestring budget as they are collecting fees far below every other platform is sheer insanity (I would even go further to suggest that it's ignorance or stupidity). Objkt does more for both artists and collectors than EVERY other platform out despite having lower fees and collecting far less revenue. Yet if Objkt ever dared to raise their fees in order to address some of their limitations there would be hell to pay. At the end of the day, if the Objkt team wished to they could tell both artists and collectors to "go pound sand". As it stands today Object is objectively the best and least costly solution on any blockchain if what one really cares about is selling, buying, or finding great new art. Really, where else are you going to mint your art and expect it to be discovered?! An Ethereum or Solana platform? LMFAO. Not only would you pay higher fees than Objkt, all other platforms out there have search/discover/notification/feed functions that are (as my teenage daughter would say) ass. We should all be grateful that the team at Objkt actually does care and tries to do right. I can attest that behind the scenes and at all hours of the day and night including weekends they are tirelessly advocating for new and undiscovered artists. Just because artists are not "featured" on the site does not mean that the support is not happening. I'm all for constructive criticism and have provided plenty over these last few years. Objkt is not now nor will it ever be the perfect platform, but it is the best out there for both artists and collectors, has a real chance to be even better over time, and for that I am exceedingly grateful. 🙏

This is an appreciation post for @objktcom. They are a small team doing a job that most people underestimate. Day in, day out, showing up for artists, collectors, curators, trying to keep something alive that is bigger than any single person involved. And they do it in a market that has been anything but easy. You can feel that they care, the willingness to listen, even when the feedback is harsh or unfair. They haven’t taken shortcuts that would have been easier or more profitable in the short term. They never sold out. And at the same time, they are a business. Not a non profit. They have to survive, pay people, make decisions that keep the platform running. And still they choose to put in all this extra work for the community, for artists, for the space as a whole. That balance is not easy and the work under appreciated. They are holding together big parts of this ecosystem that gave thousands of artists a place to start, to experiment, to be seen without needing permission or big budgets. A place where collectors could discover work early, support directly, and build real relationships. I saw some criticism coming up lately and I feel it comes from frustration. And frustration is understandable. Everyone wants more visibility, more support, more recognition. But it often gets projected onto the very people who are already doing the work. Calling it gatekeeping is easier than looking at the full picture. There are real constraints like limited time and resources and tough decisions that have to balance fairness, sustainability, and growth. You can’t please everyone at the same time, especially in a space where expectations are high and attention is scarce. And still, they keep trying to include the community. They open up conversations. They test new features. They give space to different kinds of work. They don’t just build for the top of the market. They keep the door open for those who are still finding their way. That’s not something to take for granted. Negativity comes from a place of personal expectation. People want to be seen, supported, pushed forward. But it can turn into entitlement without noticing. Into the idea that if something doesn’t benefit you directly, it must be broken. That mindset misses what’s actually being built here. objkt has never been about serving a few. It has always tried to serve many. Keeping things open while still maintaining quality. Supporting growth without losing direction. Surviving without selling out. Some people act like they know it all. This is hard. Platforms are closing left and right. objkt is still here, doing the work. My deepest admiration👏

The centralisation of Tezos & its foundation began when someone asked for an invoice for an airplane sandwich. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then you have not been here long enough or have not done your homework. Grok is also not going to be able to answer this.
