@Grapefruit_Juce @KonstantinKisin @AyoCaesar You’ve accidentally made Kisin’s point. For years people like Ash encouraged society to view politics, institutions and outcomes through race and identity. Now others are doing the same, just reaching conclusions she dislikes. Identity politics cuts both ways.

@KonstantinKisin @AyoCaesar This is utterly meaningless and you know it. People like Ash have advocated for a politics to materially improve the social fabric of this society while you've sat around chirping about culture war bullshit and cosying up to supplement selling mlm billionaire backed cunts

Crime is now being viewed through an entirely racialised lens – but only when the perpetrators aren't white. When Chas Corrigan stabbed a Saudi student to death, or Paul Doyle mowed down Liverpool fans, white people didn't have to fear being a target of collective retaliation.

@stellacreasy Serious question: what actual evidence is there that Nigel Farage believes women are “expendable” or unequal? Not disagreement. Not inference. Not assumption. Evidence.

@PippaCrerar The interesting part isn’t Farage saying “so what?” It’s whether journalists like Pippa Crerar apply the same forensic scrutiny to Labour figures with embarrassing historic comments. Standards that only operate in one political direction aren’t standards at all.

"So what?" Nigel Farage says when asked about Reform UK's Makerfield candidate's past offensive comments on social media (see list below). "These comments were posted a decade ago. They’ve been taken wildly out of context, but they’re the sort of comments that you won’t necessarily get if you’re an Oxford-educated career politician living in a nice postcode in London," he adds. "But I tell you what, they are the kind of comments you’ll hear in every pub in the country every evening, and we should be unapologetic that Rob is an ordinary bloke who’s carved quite a career for himself, had the guts to set up a business, served as an army reservist, is a patriot, likes his rugby, likes the odd pint, and said a few laddish things on social media 10 years ago. "Do you know what I’d say to that? I’d say, so what?" huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/robert-k…

@SholaMos1 When every disagreement becomes evidence of racism, the accusation loses force. A jury considered the evidence, heard the self-defence claim and reached a verdict. Criticise the verdict if you wish, but calling it “Jim Crow justice” requires proof, not assumption.

This isn't just a miscarriage of justice but also Jim Crow justice. The all white jury punished a 17 year old Black boy for killing a White bully in self-defence. No I don't think Metcalf should've been killed but it is clear Karmelo Anthony reacted to the imminent threat Metcalfe posed from his physical confrontation and did not plan a premeditated killing. It was self-defence or at the least a lesser charge. Not murder. Why 35 years when white people under the same circumstances or worse get far less sentencing? Rittenhouse claimed self-defence for murder and is free. Rick Chow free for murdering 14 year old Cyrus Carmack-Belton by claiming self-defence. It is ALWAYS a different standard for Black kids.

Appalling 🧵 I want those who champion men in women’s sport to explain why they’re happy to put girls at risk like this.

@PhilMyers53 A mandate isn’t a lifetime achievement award. Governments are judged on delivery. Living standards, migration, crime, housing and growth will determine the verdict—not AI-generated posters and personality cults.

@DPJHodges Ant Middleton served in the Paras, Royal Marines and SBS. Most people couldn’t even pass selection for one of those. By all means challenge what he said, but reducing a lifetime of service to a single conviction says more about you than it does about Middleton.

@meljomur Imagine replacing “white men” with any other racial group. If the sentence suddenly sounds unacceptable, perhaps the problem isn’t who it’s aimed at but the fact it’s a racial generalisation in the first place.

@AndrewHWestern Calling someone a racist by implication is the equivalent of throwing a punch from behind a curtain. If you thinks she’s racist, you should have the courage to say it directly. If not, then perhaps you’re more interested in generating outrage than making a serious argument.

Anyone with legal knowledge able to explain to me why Nigel Farage,Tommy Robinson,Mr Musk & others have not been arrested by police for incitement to riot? Incitement to riot is a criminal offence.I'd really like to understand why they have not been at least questioned/cautioned.

Those who use social media to incite violence and disorder are breaking the law. Next week we will lay in Parliament an update to the Online Safety Act requiring services to take quicker action to remove illegal content circulating during times of crisis.

@owenjonesjourno The victim’s family have every right to their opinion. So does everyone else. If a victim’s family supports stricter immigration controls, would that suddenly end the debate too? Either arguments stand on their merits, or they don’t.

@owenjonesjourno @PaulEmbery Ash Sarkar: crime is increasingly discussed through race. Paul Embery: that’s because race has been made central to public debate for years. Owen Jones: “So you’re saying pogroms are new?” One of these things is not like the others.

@owenjonesjourno The Belfast rioters are responsible for Belfast. The attacker is responsible for the attack. Politicians are responsible for their own words. Once you start blaming millions of people who never committed violence, you’ve stopped analysing events and started tribal point-scoring

You see these scenes from Belfast? That's our future if Reform, Restore, the Tories, GB News, Elon Musk and the right-wing media get their way. Except this will be on a much bigger scale. We have to decide: do we want those inciting hatred to destroy our country?
