@WillVasc Just because we're not immediately acting publicly doesn't mean we're endorsing it, rushing into doing changes that should really carefully consider, especially since we're not wanting to mess up twice may harm the community more. It won't take ridiculously long.

@web2000_ So here's the thing, a foul act was made, it's was targeted and in bad faith, this act is causing harm to a single person, every second that this arbitrary rule is valid, the mod team as a whole is causin harm not only to the play as to the communit, lack of act is endorsement

My two cents on the recent drama surrounding the mod team decision and specifically the misconduct by averge11 presented by Niftski. I’ve been conducting an investigation onto whether this was out of spite or jealousy since February and it’s coming to a close soon.

@WillVasc I do understand, and they’re going to be disciplined for their misconduct, it’s only been a few hours and a lot of it has been responding to community members. As I’ve said I’d rather not have people vote if they have a conflict of interest and abusing power is unacceptable.

@web2000_ Do you understand that in the moment thar bad faith is in place, all that happened is utterly wrong, it doesn't matter if some people think they voted by their own, it was a top player advocating for this change, using his "autority" to induce people to agrre with him

@WillVasc Quite frankly I think it would be in the best interest to have a re-vote and I will strongly advocate for that, but we cannot do it right away as we’re trying to address misconduct first and get the mod team in a better state before we jump into things

@WillVasc No, not what I meant to say at all. My point is if people did bring it up in bad faith and we nullified votes people have doubts over, the votes would still be in favour of banning input swapping. I’m not gonna say concretely what we are gonna do, we need to get together and plan

@WillVasc I’d rather ensure anybody who has conflicts of interest do not vote on the matter and if they do they get nullified if it comes to a third round of voting on input swapping

The vast majority were fine and even some of the removed ones are only really questionable, but we really, really can’t afford to fuck up even more of the community trust, we gotta do the right thing.

@WillVasc Well, not quite. I’m hoping the team is at least open to the possibility of reopening the discussion with community input taken as guidance. The reason I brought up the votes in the message was to indicate that it was only a few people acting in bad faith

@V_rbatim The community approves of it and if you don't, then you can just take your quite frankly elitist views that invalidate many peoples accomplishments and leave. Don't try and shift the blame onto us for stuff you quite clearly don't know and just assume.

@V_rbatim So what if a person finds keyboard more comfortable? It could be for a variety of reasons, including comfort, hand health or just making due with what a runner has. A split is also just infeasible because it would require manual reviewing of over 10,000 submissions.

Last night, @averge111 set a new Super Mario Bros world record by 3 frames, dethroning @Niftski for the first time in four years. The march to the TAS time continues as we are now only 15 frames away from a perfect speedrun.

18:49.972 WARPLESS, NEW WORLD RECORD BY 5 SECONDS! This is the biggest jump this category has seen since January 2013, when the world record was in the 19:2x range. This is also arguably my most impressive world record EVER, maybe even harder than Any%! ft. 6 FPGs, 2 FFPGs, & BBG

SMB2J Any% ACE WORLD RECORD AND FIRST EVER FULL GAME RTA COMPLETION OF ACE IN 7:39.5 (WITHOUT LOADS)!!! This beats my Any% WR by over 12 seconds. Day 1 and 6th run to 8-4, I absolutely cannot believe it.

@LuigiSidekick's discovery has just caused the SMB2J community to go crazy today LOL. We discovered that the bug he ran into could lead to a form of arbitrary code execution using the game's stack. (Inputs up to 4th room of 8-4 are by HappyLee)
