Again you're acting like the US was the only party to deals amd sanctions with or on Iran the JCOPE deal was between Iran, the 5 permanent security council members, plus Germany and the EU. And the claim from the EU is that no one could break the deal, which means Iran was still bound to it even if the US claimed the deal was over .

So, Iran was absolutely close to having a nuke (as it has been confirmed they had large amounts of 60% enriched uranium) and they had secret ICBM capabilities that could allow them to reach out to London or Paris… why hasn’t the EU and UK publicly thanked us for saving them once again?

The Geneva Conventions don't create rights for totalitarian regimes. Rights belong to individuals, not states.
If Iran captures an American, the response should be overwhelming force to secure his return, not appeals to treaties that legitimize evil.

If Iran captures American military personel they are Prisoners of War and Iran is legally entitled to keep them under the Geneva Conventions until such a time as the USA makes a deal for their safe return.
They are not 'hostages'.
