@eigenrobot The right-side photo - did they dig up or pose an actual image of the victim's feet, or is that a stock photo for people who don't know what toes are? Trying to decide which is weirder.

@Osinttechnical Looking at the map- a lot of Us controlled airspace was travelled. Dont hear any local news on this. No interception attempt or detection. Wondering of its falseflag attack? To maybe justify a ground invasion??

Iran fired a pair of intermediate-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, a joint U.S.-UK base in the Indian Ocean. One missile failed in flight, and another was engaged by a US Navy destroyer using an SM-3 missile.

@pitdesi @Neuronirav I assume to capture business-owning doctors, not just W-2 wage income is included. Does that mean that if a late-career doctor has some savings built up and is getting an additional rental/capgains income stream from them, that will be included in income?

@Neuronirav Medscape is a survey, doctors underreport because they put their base salary not full income BLS is wage data, high earning doctors are business owners so it’s underreported This is the best data: IRS Records

@byersblake not correct. Treasuries are a rush to safety. more demand for T = lower yields. that is not a bullish sign.

Sharing this publicly––hope it's not needed but helps you if it is. Lux team sent this memo to all Lux family founders yesterday "We send notes like this not because something is wrong, but because the COST of preparation is trivially LOW and the VALUE of being positioned well is asymmetrically HIGH. This isn’t a macro call. It’s a set of observations about correlated risks that are worth your attention. And a set of practical suggestions regardless of whatever happens next."

Why does Korea have the world's lowest fertility (0.78)? Not because kids are expensive. Because STATUS is expensive. Parents spend 9.2% of income on private tutoring per child—racing to outcompete other families. Remove the status externality → fertility rises 28%.

@eigenrobot The things is, in a system that rations care through months long waiting lists, it's not that easy to switch doctors if the one who the system has assigned creeps you out.

tbc: i don't know how "serious" a breach of ethics is because i don't know which medical ethics are fake and which are load-bearing. if it's a "real" violation it seems like he just should be barred from seeing female patients or banned from medicine if it's not, alerting future female patients that hey this guy is a creep puts them in a horrifying position for no reason whatsoever x.com/dissproportion…

@asymmetricinfo @jbarro The thing about romaine is this: it is a middle class green. It isn’t a fancy flaccid green like arugula. But it isn’t trailer trash iceberg. It is the high-low green. The blue jeans of produce. It is the sort of thing that won the Cold War. And Caesar is its masterpiece.

"other responsibilities to not facilitate crime" Likely went down like I heard at the UPS store recently (paraphrased): Woman: I want to ship this phone to my brother Clerk: Name? W: Well.. he's actually a friend C: Do you know him? W: Yes, we've been talking for weeks C: Have you met him? W: No but he's a friend C: Ma'am, this is probably fraud. I recommend that you don't ship the phone W: No! He's my friend C: I recommend not doing it Me: Ma'am, I've worked in identity theft and security, this is a scam W: Mind your own business! I HAVE to ship the phone C: Ok W: (gives address) C: Ok, here you go. It won't go out until 5. Call us at this number and we can stop it easily until then

I read a news report recently of a 50-something Californian getting taken for $1 million in a pig butchering scam. This of course happens frequently, though the amounts involved are usually far less. Idle thought: several institutions dropped a ball there to allow that.

@lymanstoneky Marshall Islands GDP is like 215M. Even though they're more affected by US policy than most countries, it's hard for me to believe 140% of GDP (even over 8? years) not measurement error or misattributed 3rd party.
