How should Christians think about the Birthright Citizenship battle between Donald Trump and the Supreme Court? @RodDMartin breaks it down: “Birthright citizenship, as it is currently interpreted, is a misreading of the 14th Amendment and a severe threat to American sovereignty. It fuels illegal immigration, burdens taxpayers, and erodes the fundamental meaning of citizenship.” centerforbaptistleadership.org/the-case-again…

Finally, read leading conservative scholar on this debate, John Eastman, at @theammind, who has been arguing for years that "the 14th Amendment’s Citizenship Clause does not provide automatic citizenship for everyone born on U.S. soil, no matter the circumstances." americanmind.org/features/the-c…

“The United States, like any sovereign nation, has the right to define its citizenry based on allegiance, not geographic happenstance.” Pastors and Christians need to understand what’s really at play with the Birthright Citizenship case under the 14th Amendment. @RodDMartin explains at @BaptistLeaders today.

The seeker-sensitive movement has bred denominational disinterest and destroyed our Baptist identity Great piece from Mark DeVine explaining how the SBC has changed over the past few decades
Center for Baptist Leadership@BaptistLeaders

“Back when Southern Baptists were soldiers serving in Jesus Christ’s army, a formidable juggernaut of Baptist influence arose on this continent, detectable across a staggering swath of geography connecting the two great oceans of the Western Hemisphere” recalls @mdevine60 These were the Baptists that were rallied to save the Convention, turning out over 50,000 messengers in 1985. Where did they go? What happened? Where are the “mobilizable Baptists of yesteryear?” Dr. DeVine argues that the seeker-sensitive movement, which breeds denominational disinterest, destroy our identity. And men don’t mobilize for “non-things.” A must read Part Three in our “Southern Baptist Reckoning” series! centerforbaptistleadership.org/a-southern-bap…

@WilliamWolfe You still have the option to renounce your citizenship and self deport. Just letting you know that you have options. 😉

@WilliamWolfe If you self deport along with all your loved ones, would that qualify as mass deportation? 🤔

Never forget: The Constitution was made BY the American people and FOR the American people Literally, to “us and our posterity.” The American nation existed before the Constitution. It was written to serve us, to protect us, we the people of these United States. No one else. If the “Constitution” is now being interpreted to be for “8 billion potential Americans” then it’s meaningless. I don’t want that to be the case. But that’s the only logical conclusion from some of the arguments I’ve heard today. Still, I’m praying for a miracle on the Birthright Citizenship ruling. If we don’t get this right, the downstream results are revolutionary.

Conservatives simply refuse to take power or rule They’ve been told that the Constitution demands this and that anything short of total surrender is a betrayal of the founders I’ve done my best to convince them otherwise but that increasingly seems impossible

The hope of a “better ERLC” is 100% brought to you by the good men and women in the SBC who were willing to speak up and point out the issues. For that act of courage, they were smeared by the Platform and its friends. But they were right. And delivered a chance for reform.

The Constitution isn’t a national suicide pact It doesn’t compel us to encourage illegal immigration with universal birthright citizenship
