If you are not using the new codex app, you are really wasting your development time. I always dreamed about who is going to replace IDE like Cursor, because they are memory hungry when running multiple projects. Thought it is going to be terminals for a while, but you should be a expert in terminals, slight learning curve. But we need something inbetween. That's where new codex app comes into play. Work on multiple projects or multiple features in parallel. Easy to build, Easy to review, easy to checkin, everything made easy. Learning curve here is less than 10 minutes. @webtkdev Totally agree. Traditional IDEs feel heavier every year. Codex feels lightweight but still powerful perfect middle ground between terminals and full IDEs. Huge productivity boost.

@webtkdev Especially cursors design mode is crazily slow. The ide hangs alot of when you open the browser and inspect

@webtkdev based on my using, Cursor + Opus 4.5 is much more productivity than Codex, especially when debug

@webtkdev The real win isn’t “replacing IDEs” — it’s collapsing the loop into spec → diff → tests with reviewable patches. If Codex reliably keeps context across branches and ships passing tests, the IDE becomes optional UI, not the center of work.
