@1ftFadeaway @jonnybario @atrupar The escalation started with the U.S. and Israeli strikes inside Iran, and the reaction that followed clearly wasn’t what they expected. So yes — they miscalculated, and that miscalculation is what turned this into a crisis that could have been avoided.

You’re actually making my point for me. Gas is sold on the international market — which is exactly why the U.S. isn’t insulated. Even as a major producer, we still pay global prices. When supply tightens anywhere, prices rise everywhere. That’s why our gas jumped ~35% this month. If the U.S. were truly “independent,” global disruptions wouldn’t touch us. But they do — every single time. That’s the whole point.
