Why can’t this Premier and this government be transparent about anything? Why are we only finding out about this resignation a month after the fact and almost six weeks after this MLA wrote an oped encouraging Albertans to sign the separatist petition? cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

@CPC_HQ I do •not• think the price of diesel is the fault of the Liberals, and it is unlikely that diesel costs alone caused a 62.2% increase in the price of beef.

Under the Liberals, beef prices are up 62.6% since 2021. With diesel prices sky high, it’s hurting farmers and driving up the price of beef. Our solution: slash the industrial carbon tax to bring beef prices down: conservative.ca/cpc/make-food-…

@CTVVancouver How is it possible to sit in the same room with someone trying to destroy the Country by supporting separatists and separation ? “Totally awkward” would be an understatement to be with Smith & UCP.

PM @MarkJCarney said today what needed to be said. Danielle Smith’s referendum is distracting, damaging, deceitful and divisive. It unsettles investor confidence. And it is a potentially destabilizing move that cannot be undone. We have seen what Brexit has done. 🇨🇦 forever
YEGWAVE@yegwave

Mark Carney compared the idea of an Alberta sovereignty referendum to Brexit, warning that using it as leverage in negotiations can become a risky gamble that leaves voters with consequences they never intended.

Darryl is my constituent. He is worried, stressed & frustrated. The cuts to AISH and the rollout of ADAP aren't supporting vulnerable Albertans, they are causing real harm. @neudorf_ab I hope you take the opportunity to provide a relief to many worried disabled Albertans.

The reality of the UCP's cuts to income support for disabled residents: “I cried for the 1st time in decades,” Darryl Learie said. “I’ve never been more terrified in my life. There’s this ugly, gnawing feeling in my gut that won’t go away.” edmontonsun.com/opinion/column… By @camtait

You want to start listing the things Albertans didn't vote for @MarkJCarney? That list (and its a long one over succesive elections) is largely what forced 700k Albertans to ask for a vote on this very issue. Plus, I dont remember you winning a majority in the last election?
YEGWAVE@yegwave

PM Mark Carney says Albertans did not vote for a separatist agenda in the last provincial election, arguing it was not part of the governing party’s platform and warning the issue creates economic uncertainty.

One of my all time favourite separatist arguments. 👌 The UN will come to Alberta’s defence! UN blue helmets will be dispatched to BC to force the construction of pipelines! And this comes from folks who believe the UN is irredeemably corrupt, and see a “globalist” plot hiding behind every tree. 🤯
The Critical Compass@thecritcomp

@jkenney Canada would be in violation of UNCLOS if they dared to block our exports. A Republic of Alberta blocking East-West trade between the Pacific coast and Eastern Canada would be infinitely more devastating than whatever reactionary nonsense you've dreamed up here. Be serious.

No matter how Danielle Smith tries to spin this, she ALONE is responsible for the separatist referendum. The buck stops with her.
