@D0cC_csgo feels pretty good IMO played like 5 matches of prem. Also, the false vacs probably mean that they updated vac so time will tell if it truly was improved or if it is still not helpful.

@CardGameNomad the chinese card was printed much more recentley so its not really even "period correct". There is a huge gap in 10 and 9 price so i just wouldnt buy the chinese one
English

Chinese PSA 10s meanwhile are >$1000. 🧐
Sometimes, if you just want the art, you can find other languages for literal fractions of the price

Saw this beautiful card over the weekend 😍 But yeah…definitely can’t afford it 😅

@StevenxTCG im in the process of selling my 10 set, at some point i just accepted that pokemon hype comes in cycles and when it goes up they always go down, and at the end of the day they are just cards
English

The collector in me wants to hold on to this. But at what point is it crazy not to sell?

And counter strike twitter is full of people with $50k pixel inventories, $100 in the bank, and slamming monster energy drinks daily

LinkedIn is full of people with $250k in an index fund, $250k in home equity, and a $100k BMW, and they think they’re crushing it. Twitter is full of people with $2,000,000 in Bitcoin, and they think they’re still short on Bitcoin.

@chakrax2 @BarefootElleck cards are so expensive that shops really need to be run like jewelry stores, people like to talk about them "just being cardboard" but at a certian value threshold literally any asset poses a risk to have in store, especially ones that can be resold.
English

@BarefootElleck The simple solution is to stop stocking them and keep them at your house. In order to buy any, you habe to actually talk to the staff and set up a time and date to pick up limited stock

As a Pokémon collector, it’s literally CARDBOARD.
You can tell these aren’t collectors or people who know much of anything about the hobby because you cannot sell these without being tracked. The serial number is tracked. They report it stolen with the grading company, and it flags every time the serial number is looked up.
“Well they can just not show the serial number.” Bro, no one is buying a slab without checking that cert. They want to see the original photos and know what they’re buying.
“They could just sell it to a store.” You have to provide your legal information to the store to trade things in. You legally have to for their tax purposes. If they check later, it’s traced back to you.
“They could photoshop a fake serial number.” They’ll notice when they look it up and it’s not the card, and that’s if their photoshop skills are good enough for the avid collectors who can spot fakes by the subtle curve of a number or letter.
Real collectors are not stupid. Most of us sit and wait anyways. We know the ups and downs. It will drop again.
These people will end up selling to another scalper who doesn’t know their stuff and they’ll all trade money back and forth before moving on again when the bills come in and the market stagnates.
My thoughts and prayers with those dealing with the grief after such a traumatic experience. 💜
Never thought I’d see the day our COL and economy gets so rough we start wielding guns for cardboard. 😔
