Lunch today with these two wonderful women. When I recently met Roxanne, we realized we had a mutual friend in Deborah Lynn, which, of course, led to lunch. It’s funny how life connects the dots like that.

So I politely stepped aside. If a discussion requires a predetermined conclusion, they don’t need a commentator. They need an actor. And if I ever return to acting, I’ll happily audition for the role.

I view political commentary as a responsibility. If I’m going to speak publicly, it needs to reflect what I actually believe and what is truly happening. I’m not anyone’s talking point, and I’m not interested in going on television to deliver a predetermined answer.

I initially agreed. But as the conversation continued, it became clear the debate was structured around a very specific conclusion.
