@Mike_kim714 Are you using just your lob wedge, or do you use lower lofts? I don't see ANY tour pros using anything other than their lob wedges these last few years. I like to use as low loft as possible, but sometimes I lose the feel with the lower lofts.

My video and 🧵 on shallow/steep chip shots Hopefully you guys can hear me enough… didn’t realize the audio wasn’t great until after. If you can’t hear at all, I’ll film it again Comment with any questions you might have and I’ll try to answer them. Also, Parker McLaughlin and Joe Mayo know much more about how to teach this stuff than me, these videos are how I go about doing these certain shots. Parker and Joe will have more info and you can easily find their stuff on their social media. These are just very basic breakdowns and from the fairway.

Great advice. I'm fed up with the rest of them telling me to hit up on it. I get big pushes and pulls. 3 simple setup adjustments that will have you hitting more fairways golf.com/instruction/si…

My review of Aimpoint after a yr of trying it: ** The most important part of green reading is hitting putts online consistently. Get yourself a tool to help with that first and foremost! 1. Easily the BEST thing about aimpoint is being able to practice green reading efficiently. It’s a real hassle to practice green reading without it and it can be tricky. Just grab a level and guess the % before looking at the level. 2. Most complaints are how slow it makes play. I promise you it’s only slow when slow players are using it. You can make the process much faster than the “normal” method. 3. It’s not perfect. You can use a level with good greens and it won’t go in every time. Greens are imperfect and even the level is at times imperfect. There will never be a perfect system. It’s golf. 4. If it’s not perfectly accurate why use it? If my green reading is 10% better with aimpoint then I’m absolutely going to at least try it out. Ur eyes or feel aren’t perfect either 5. I’m actually not that good with gauging the % with my feet. I’m actually better using my eyes to determine the percentage and using the fingers to find my target. Maybe I haven’t practiced it enough but I like just using my eyes 🤷🏻‍♂️ 6. I don’t use it every time. Putts inside 7ft I don’t use it, and with double breakers I generally don’t use it. I think aimpoint is at its best when it’s flat to a little uphill and the break is a constant %. It’s great from these scenarios in my experience. 7. I absolutely recommend most ams to try it out. If you don’t like the straddling aspect, then just use your eyes like me to gauge the %. Quick and easy.

Golf clubs should change their rules and make it mandatory that all shirts are untucked. You get a letter if your shirt is tucked in. “Sir, can you please untuck your shirt.” 😄

@LouStagner I think that is even more relevant in Europe in the winter, with absolutely no roll on the ball.

Would you like to hit more greens? Every golfer on the planet is going to answer yes to that question. Low Hanging Fruit One thing that will help most amateurs hit more greens is how they are approaching front hole locations. The image below is data for players with a 0 to 5 index. The percentages are how often they hit the green from 120-130 yards in the fairway. To a front hole location, they hit the green 56% of the time. To a back hole location that jumps to 72%. That is a huge difference. Why does this happen? The two main contributors are: 1. Target selection 2. Quality of strike Many amateurs are simply getting the yardage to the flag and then trying hit the shot that exact distance. Seeing that we often do not make high quality contact, the ball is more likely to finish short. To a back hole location, a less than well struck shot still has a chance of catching part of the green. To a front hole location those mediocre shots end up short. What can you do? When you are faced with a front hole location, you MUST pick a target past the hole. The optimal amount past the hole will vary by how far you are from the hole and your skill level (and other factors as well). The next few times you play, start trying this to front hole locations. Pick a target that is past the hole. Aggressively commit to that target. Your greens in regulation will go up, and your scores will go down! (data from @ArccosGolf)

@LouStagner I landed in 2 divots in one hole the other week, the 2nd one really deep. And I created a lager hole getting the ball out. On our course you replace the divot and the ravens come after and lift them out again.

The rules of golf have been changing for as long as the game has been played. Let's hope 2024 is the year they change the rule on divots in the fairway. Let the roasting begin! 🤣 😎😎😎⛳️⛳️⛳️

Wanna get better? Work from the hole and go backwards… 1. First, ruthlessly eliminate 3-putts. 2. Second, learn to avoid penalty strokes at all cost. 3. Next, practice getting up and down from anywhere. 4. Then, focus on hitting more greens from 150 yards out. 5. Finally, hit more fairways with your driver. Most amateur golfers approach practice in the opposite order.

@LouStagner It depends on the player of course, but for me i would say approach mostly. But on some couraes driving, because i hit 250yards at best. Either would be nice, but alot like playing a scramble.

You can have the average tour pro hit one shot per hole for you. Once you pick a "category", that's all they can hit for entire round (e.g., if you pick tee shots, they can only hit tee shots). Which one? 1. Tee shots 2. Approach shots 3. Short game shots 4. Putts

@RUB1G @johnhuggan Its literally the last putts of the match. Caddies of all people should not get involved. One day a fan will interupt the play and it will come back to this. Its universally unacceptable on every level.

@johnhuggan For the last time, here is the picture. US guys just putting their hats on, things dying down. Rory, already passed LaCava, on his way to look behind his putt. Rory stops suddenly, says something that sets LaCava off. All he had to do is keep walking and there is no issue.

Justin Rose summing up perfectly how Europe have had so much success in Ryder Cups: “We’re united by a culture. We’re united by a generation of players that have come before us and this is our time. Luke’s been very clear on that message. This is our time to shine, not because this is our stage, we are just taking care of it because of the amazing role models that we had before us that have shown us how to do it. I feel there’s a really strong culture in the European team. A good pairing in the European team doesn’t mean playing with your best mate, it means representing something bigger than yourself. I feel like that’s what being a European Ryder Cup player is all about.” Justin is a brilliant ambassador for golf and has nailed this. A future captain in the making 🙌🇪🇺
