Sometimes, I wonder why I do this work. I wonder why I work so hard to elect Republican majorities into office & — when we are in power — our very elected officials don’t wield or harness that power. I wonder why I lose sleep, miss family vacations, & put my personal life on hold, so wealthy Senators can go on paid vacations after not achieving the very promises they campaigned on. Sometimes, I wonder if they truly care about us & if they actually want to represent the will of the very people that elected them into positions of authority. I will tell you this: if the Senate ultimately does not pass the SAVE America Act, I will use all of the energy, hustle, & organizing efforts we used to elect these Senators into office as tools to peacefully & respectfully defeat them in their upcoming elections.

The ID would be fine... if Democrats didn't give ID's to illegals. Driver license would be fine... except Democrats gave illegals licenses. Voter Registration rolls would be fine... if Democrats didn't give illegals the right to vote locally. Democrats destroy all the legal avenues and cry if you spot it...

First, I wanted to thank you for bringing the SAVE America Act to the Senate floor for debate. Second, please continue debate on the bill & do NOT invoke cloture on the SAVE America Act unless we have 60 votes. Third, please consider continuing to work through the weekend &/or not recessing from March 30 - April 10. If you made that decision & focused on reopening the Department of Homeland Security, you & your Republican caucus would be heroes to millions of Americans, as well as the unpaid TSA agents. Furthermore, please know that we can be your greatest allies. We can be your bullhorn. We can be your peaceful ammunition. We can give you the support of millions of voices that desperately want election security. The single most important piece of legislation we care about is the SAVE America Act — proof of citizenship & voter ID. By the way, I’ll be in Rapid City & Sioux Falls this weekend — peacefully. 5 years ago today... A full year with no in-person learning. They only went part-time after this and still had to do social distancing, and they never resumed his social skills small group and other therapies (he has language disabilities). I'll never forget. I can't. We're still making up for what was lost. He's doing well at his job and has completed a few semesters of community college, but the non-scientific lockdowns and restrictions made what was already going to be a challenging transition immensely difficult.

I wouldn't doubt that this is happening ... not even a little bit. Long ago, when our oldest was on an IEP, every time I would go into those meetings, it was obvious I was the opposition. And they'd go into a long list of everything our daughter wasn't doing right. At first, I just sat and listened (and would then sit in my car crying), but after so many meetings where I was told how much of a failure my daughter was (in much kinder terms, of course), I finally lost my patience and asked them what she was doing WELL. You'd have thought I'd asked them to solve some crazy math problem. It never occurred to them to make note of what she was accomplishing, how she was growing, and where she was shining. Months later, I had to travel for work, and while I was gone, our daughter missed me and was upset ... like any child would be if their mom was out of town. In their actual paperwork, in the IEP itself, they wrote that my leaving her for TWO DAYS had caused a setback in her progress. They put that in the documentation. Not even kidding. I pulled her off her IEP when I got back ... And yes, this is the same daughter who is now in college and graduating a year early with two degrees. Sorry, this ended up being much longer than I originally planned, but the way these so-called experts treat parents who are LITERALLY THE EXPERTS when it comes to our children just infuriates me. Moms and dads, you know your children best. Do not let them bully or boss you around. You are your child's best advocate in every situation. You are the experts.
