@kaydaustin Hi Katie. We are a group of oncology pharmacists who operate a non-profit website for free chemotherapy education. We would be very interested to hear about your software and potentially help further your important vision on bringing awareness to clinical trials.

Couldn’t agree more! I actually started building an app last year because I was frustrated with how difficult trials were to find. It allowed you to subscribe for updates and follow/dismiss trials so you could stay up-to-date on the latest from when you last checked. I started writing my memoir so had to set this project down but would happily open source the code if anyone wants to pick it up. I may also be able to contribute to it again soon as my book’s published 🤞

The most experienced patients & advocates struggle to search for #clinicaltrial, even on clinicaltrials.gov. A user-friendly, easy-to-navigate, patient-friendly language (lay language often isn't) app is the Holy Grail for our community. #LCSM #WorldLungCancerDay2023

It is very important to take rivaroxaban with food as this increases the amount of the drug that is absorbed. Taking on an empty stomach may decrease the effectiveness of rivaroxaban. Of note, the 10 mg tablet may be taken with or without food. #CEtips chemoexperts.com

Medicines taken for heartburn that reduce stomach acid can decrease absorption of dasatinib (Sprycel). Short-acting antacids can be used instead of proton pump inhibitors or H2-antagonists. Do not take antacids within 2 hours of taking dasatinib. #CEtips chemoexperts.com

If you are taking eltrombopag (Promacta) or prescribing it to your patients, it is VERY important for patients to take it on an empty stomach. Food may decrease absorption and lessen effectiveness. Food should be avoided for 1 hour before and 2 hours after each tablet. #CETips

70 years ago, mechlorethamine (Mustargen) was the first ever chemotherapy agent approved by the FDA. Although no longer used due to side effects, it paved the way for the development of other alkylating agents still used to treat many cancers today #TBT bit.ly/2Lo7I6s
