Jefferies is now projecting an average copper supply deficit of ~491,000 tonnes PER YEAR through 2030, citing slow mine recoveries and relentless demand. The structural story keeps getting stronger. $NINE #copper #criticalminerals 🔗

African Pioneer (AIM: AFP) has signed a non-binding term sheet with global EPC contractor Xinhai Mining Services to finance, engineer, construct and commission the Ongombo-Ongeama Copper Project in Namibia. The proposed agreement would see Xinhai provide 100% of the funding required to advance the project from exploration and resource expansion through to production, significantly accelerating development without the need for additional project funding from African Pioneer if milestones are achieved. Xinhai, which has completed more than 500 mining projects globally, would also subscribe for a 10% equity stake in AFP at 1.15p per share and provide project financing that could ultimately be repaid through an interest in the project vehicle. Management views the deal as a transformational step towards creating a new copper producer in Namibia, with the project benefiting from its strategic location just 30km from Windhoek and access to established infrastructure.@ColinBirdMining

Bezant Resources (AIM:BZT) has completed definitive agreements with Hartree Metals for a US$7 million secured prepayment facility and life-of-mine offtake agreement covering 100% of copper concentrate production from the Hope & Gorob Copper Project in Namibia. The funding supports mine construction and commissioning activities, with first concentrate production targeted for Q3 2026. The deal also provides long-term financing flexibility and secures a strategic marketing partner for future production as Bezant advances towards becoming a copper producer.@BezanResources

China's rare earth export controls are driving prices sharply higher:
Yttrium, used in defense, aerospace, and chipmaking, has skyrocketed +14,000% since April 2025, to ~$1,100 per kilogram.
Terbium, used in permanent magnets for electric vehicles and wind turbines, has surged +350% over the same period, to ~$4,500 per kilogram.
Dysprosium, used to strengthen magnets in electric motors and defense systems, has risen +450%, to ~$1,450 per kilogram.
The surge has been fueled by China's export licensing requirements imposed on April 4th, 2025, covering 7 rare earth elements, including terbium, dysprosium, and yttrium, in retaliation for President Trump's tariff increases.
As a result, exports of yttrium, dysprosium, and terbium are down -50%, -60%, and -50% respectively since April 2025, compared to the 12 months before the controls.
China’s export controls are holding back some key rare earths.

A few year ago @robert_ivanhoe said at a conference you should line your walls with copper when you build your house. Then wait. Then in a few years take out the copper and buy 10 diamond encrusted Lamborghini’s.
Don’t think he’s going to be far off.

ROAST NEWS SERVICE – RNS -FRIDAY 5 JUNE 2026

Kendrick Resources PLC (LSE: KEN) reported encouraging results from its Kieshöhe rare earth project in Namibia, suggesting the project could emerge as a major discovery alongside the company’s flagship Teufelskuppe deposit within the Bonya Rare Earth District. Analysis of seven previously untested historic drill holes returned an average grade of 1.51% TREO, with standout intersections including 1 metre at 5.46% TREO, 1 metre at 3.53% TREO and 3.25 metres at 2.73% TREO. Importantly, every borehole ended in mineralised carbonatite or rare earth-bearing dykes, indicating the system remains open at depth. Management believes that while Kieshöhe grades are slightly lower than Teufelskuppe, the tonnage potential could be significantly larger, with current exploration suggesting earlier assumptions may have underestimated the project’s scale. Notably, the company’s recent internal US$400 million valuation assigned no value to Kieshöhe, providing potential upside as drilling, resource modelling and development studies continue across the wider Bonya district.
